interesting project. the quality of your work really shows. one question: why do you replicate the OEM M style instead of making some differences visually?

Not sure what you mean exactly with "making differences visually" but I'll try to answer. Two reasons: 1) The M bumpers look way better then anything BMW has to offer for E85/6 + Aero skirts look good. 2) With 3rd party parts I feel like I can never achieve the same kind of fit and finish then with OEM parts. I just hate the fitment issues on fiberglass parts, you never get them to lineup like OEM parts unless you modify the sh1t out of them...

Today I disassembled all the brake calibers and rotors. Then I painted the calibers, installed AP coilovers on all 4 corners and cleaned the hubs. Also started to work on putting the engine back in. If all goes well and the new Zimmerman sport set arrives here soon, I should have this baby on the road next week.

They are from Iconz, but I think the company is now bust. Or at least I wouldn't order anything from that company, had some serious problems with them. I eventually ordered the wheels for E91 with really aggressive offsets but the they didnt know how to calculate offsets or something so I got no idea what offset the wheels are. I measured them once but I forgot what it was :) At least the barrel sizes were correct 10,5" and 9" x 19. Running on ... mmm if i remember correctly 225 and 265 Falken FK456.

wow!! your m3 replica....what shade of blue is it???

estoril??? or monte carlo?

stunning!

It's my own mixture of Atlantis blue metallic. It's the normal Atlantis patter minus 1/3 of the green flakes. If you want the exact pattern I can check it out from my memos. The car is sold ages ago so I cant remember anymore. Now I got E91 for work and this Z for fun

Looking good.

Here's hoping everything runs smoothly in the next couple of weeks.

Bet you can't wait to slip behind the steering wheel for the first time! :driving:

Keep us posted.

Would welcome your feedback on those coilovers as well (considering a set for mine).

Cheers.

Peter :)

Yeah it's coming along quite hasty now. Hope all goes well in the end...

Everything is pretty much done that I can do now, just waiting for more painted parts and some parts coming from BMW.

Otherwise the car is done, but it needs some detailing and brakes. I've ordered some zimmermans but they haven't arrived yet. I'll take some proper pictures when I get the car home and clean it.

Looking very nice indeed.

What brakes are you thinking of running??

Look forward to some more pics once it's been cleaned and detailed. 8)

M-hoods are hard to come by, and usually nobody is willing to ship them either. And it's quite expensive from BMW.

Brakes are just regular zimmermans.

Bumper looks a bit off color since it was different paint mix, but it's unnoticable to the naked eye. Camera just spotted it instantly.
