Hi all, still around, sorry I do not post much, but always surfing the posts and keeping up to date on whats going on.

Any how, my dilema.. So changing circumstances (All good) have led to having bad thoughts :P ... which is I use the car so much less nowadays and I am loathe to leave it spending so much time in the garage going unused, 3 months is the longest its been laid up so far and that is now with no reason on the horizon to bring her out to play. As I see no reason or real opportunity's to bring her out for a drive or commute or anything for that matter any time soon, do I sell it and move on, 5 years is a decent innings and she has served me well... :driving:

Having dogs again (Got two in the last 1 1/2 years) is one main reason and it means there is less opportunity to use the car. In fact in my spare time I now prefer walking with the dogs, not sure the dogs are so keen sometimes as I tend do do 5, 10 plus mile trail walks

When we do go out we use the X3 so much more so the dogs can come out with us, which means the Z has just become redundant no matter how much I love having it.

Here lies the dilema.. I do not need to shift it on and if I did id probably replace it with a more dog practical car, likely to have a third Dog by the middle of next year :o .

So shes tucked up in the garage on a trickle charger, ready to roll at the turn of a key.

I guess a few of you only use yours for fun and lay them up for winter any way and are probably thinking, whats the problem

So I guess the next best thing to selling (Right now ) is to leave a hint to any prospective buyers looking for a 28i and stumble on this topic...

Any one looking for a white 2012 Z4 E89m sport manual with 65K on the clock, look me up, I might be tempted to let her go.

Sorry to hear you might be thinking of going zedless Jim. :(

But with such little use and different circumstances I can see why you might be considering a sale.

I bought my latest last December and still haven't quite got to 2,000 miles yet! I think I need to come up with some longer essential journeys because it's definitely staying.

Nearly only 2,000 miles

Dont know what I am worried about

In all seriousness, I don't see me using it at all any more which is why the bad thoughts. Took the wife on a road trip in the last of the good weather, 300 mile round trip, roof down all day epic it was.. Got back and felt awful leaving the dogs at home

I do see the point of keeping one laid up if its you hobby, 2nd car etc. or your going to use it in the good weather but I am just struggling to see a future where I am using it at the moment.

:tumbleweed:

Try putting it in the for sale section, always a good place to start when selling along with a price. :driving:
Lovely looking z by the way.

Sounds like your life style has changed subtly with the arrival of your new household. Sports cars are a lifestyle choice. If the two no longer marry up, then perhaps it's time to enjoy something different. :)

Still getting my speed fix on the bike, but track time only and on those occasions the wife's left in charge of the dogs

Got my Z4 in late September 2019 with 10 miles on the clock.
As of today it has 3595 miles... that’s not very good going either and also have two dogs.
Still, wouldn’t be without it and when I do get to drive it, it reminds me that I wouldn’t be without it.
If you don’t have to move it on, then keep it. Then when we can, make more reasons to get out and go for a drive in it.

Did enjoy the last blast in the good weather.

Spending all my other spare time out in the Mini with both my (twins) daughters, doing lots of road time to get them experience behind the wheel and help them get through their tests.

Would normally only need a dry day to get her out when time allowed. Hampshire and the south, south West has been amazing to get lost in but just not getting the sort of time you need to have any decent road trip :(

I have 3 gundogs which are Hungarian Vizslas, a wife and a Zed, problem solved though by carrying the Vizslas in the wife’s VW Touareg so that leaves me to enjoy the Zed as and when I want to and the wife hates the Zed so I can go driving without being nagged to death 👍. Keep the Zed you know you want to.

With my “other” hobbies the 🔥 is going out on the car as a “toy”, I have always been a petrol head and love the Z but am struggling with the idea of basically having it turn into a garage ornament.

I think it’s as has been said, the lifestyle changes are adding up to the reality that it may be my time to move on.

Not wanting to and not having to isn’t helping.. :headbang:

On the upside is I am in no rush to sell. :P

i'd agree with buzyg, a 2 seater convertible is a lifestyle choice. if it doesnt fit with your lifestyle any more (which it certainly doesnt with 2/3 dogs) then move it on

Plenty of fast estates out there which will allow you to get driving enjoyment and take the dogs too.

Might go on a hunt and trade it in for a dog friendly car... :|

Forced myself to take it out for a run today, roof down in all the fog and it still puts a smile on my face
