Hi,

I havent yet bought the z4 but the one im looking has factory sat nav, I believe the head unit supports mp3 but this is through disc.

So whats the best option to add Mp3 via usb stick, If it supports IPOD too that would be great. I have looked up options but most threads are old and models have changed or discontinued.

I dont ideally want to change the head unit as most dont suite the dash and dont ant to loose any function from sat nav.

Audiovox Driven by DICE < this looks to include the DSP which i believe the car has

grom audio usb3 < this would need additional adapter, so not far off price of the above

intravee II < dont know much about this one as cant find there homepage

Any help would be appreciated, it the one thing the car doesnt have

thanks
Carl

A 2007 car should have an aux-in port as standard fitted to the panel under the heater controls, I think. For intravee details you need to go to toysinyourcar.com. Can't help with the rest I'm afraid, but someone else will be along soon.

yer it has aux, but I have always had ipod hidden away or SD card.

Plus id prefer to control it through stereo / steerin wheel controls

thanks i`ll look t that site

There is also Dension, although not sure if it works with DSP. Their comparability chart will confirm though.

nah says doesnt work with dsp, but it seems to be hit and miss to if you have analogue dsp or coax digital one.

so looks like waiting till i get one to see how the amps wired up :/

If you've got the Professional Navigation (the one with the flip up screen) and will be using an iDevice, then the only way to go is the Intravee II + Alpine KCA420i. I bought an iPod Classic specifically for this purpose. Installation can be a bit of a pain to make everything accessible (will require removal of the entire boot interior, and if you want access from the front then even more difficult), but it's worth it, and the extras the Intravee offers just make it an ace piece of kit.

ye option list on car says nav pro, did yours need the dsp adapter too.

Shame my ibus pioneer ipod ib wouldnt connect from old car :/

id be happy with usb mem stick tbh, my car ipods very old

Face lifts won't need the DSP adapter. Some late pre face lifts may not either, but early cars will for sure.

cheers srhutch, i thought the dsp coax would be on later years for some reason.

the intravee II does look nice controlling the ipod, and wouldnt be too badly priced if I got a 2nd hnd alpine ibus. the USB on the higher model would be nice but they all say it can be a bit slow with the usb side so best to stick with ipod
