Z4 2006 Replacement Badges / Roundels

Hi All

Woody Here

I have recently purchased a 2006 2.5i SE Z4 with only 34,000 miles and it is in almost fantastic condition reflected in the price from BMW Sytner!!

I am loving the way the car drives, but want to replace the badges / Roundels without having to pay the ridiculously high prices for OEM replacements, Jees I could go and watch a few live Iron Maiden or Rammstein Concerts for the same price, not just a piece of decorative plastic that is obviously not built to last!! Rant Over :)

I have looked online and feel that people are trying to take advantage and offering replacements with very bad descriptions and photos designed to deceive the potential buyer into just buying a set of stickers for £25!

I have also had a little difficulty in measuring them.

I basically need a full set of Wheel caps (the worst parts) Bonnet, Boot, and Indicators the steering wheel is not too bad but would change too if it was not too expensive an add-on.

Any ideas on where to purchase at a reasonable cost would be appreciated so I can get this beauty looking its best in 15 years!

Sorry for the over-use of the word I at the beginning of every sentence, I seem to have an I problem that I need to get out of :headbang:

Cheers

Woody

Hi Woody, I have bought several sets of wheels centres (for several sets of wheels, before you ask) from fleaBay sellers for around £10 a set and had no problem with them whatsoever.

For the body badges you do need to be a bit more careful, as I have noticed some of them for sale are just “stick on” rather than the hard plastic OE fit.

I'm in the same boat.

Would be good if someone could post links to the actual items for the boot & Bonnet badges.

I've just bought this for my steering wheel but haven't received it yet

When I went to the Ace Cafe in 2019 in my previous E86 someone noticed one of the blue parts of the front roundel had come off so it looked silver! My OCD meant I noticed every time I looked at the car so I bought this one:-

https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00CHILOE4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I had seen stickers but as the base isn't flat I thought my car deserved a genuine part! Mine came from BMW Park Lane but Cotswold BMW or Sopers of Lincoln might be a few quid cheaper if you mention the forum. The roundel has 2 posts that are secured from behind with self-tapping nuts that cut a thread on the posts and needed to be saved as the new badge didn't include them. Quite easy to get to if you pop a kidney grille out.

Like Zedebee I've bought wheel centres for less than a tenner on Ebay and they have been fine but I made a point of getting ones with 12 tangs as some only seem to have 6 so might not have been so secure. If they don't last too long at that price I'll just buy more!

Sorry I can't help with the rear or indicator ones.

Thanks for the fast reply guys, some useful information to try and avoid the scamming sticker people. I will start with the wheels first and then the main body badges, for some reason a plastic film seems to have become delaminated in places and the chrome has come off / showing white on the letters. It will take a while, but my Z4 will go to the ball looking awesome again :)

Hi All

If any of you are in the same boat as me, then the suggestion of using cheap eBay ones was a good idea, I got these from this seller, but there are obviously other sellers ;)

Cheers for all your help, I am now looking for Boot, Bonnet and Indicators, the car is starting to look good :)

Wheels need a clean next!

Hi Woody,
Yes the cheap Ebay wheel centre caps are fine as you have obviously found.
I was in the same boat with the rear roundel on my E92. I looked at fleabay, Scamazon and the like for 'replicas'. Just be really careful as I couldn't find any that were the right profile (the diameters are not a problem). Lots of BMs have different profiles, ie some are deeper than others, some are curved etc.
I ended up biting the bullet and paying the £42 for a genuine BMW roundel (it hurt, yes) but it fits perfectly and is the right part. Sopers of Lincoln will give a discount and their postage is good value too.
I am sure I saw a thread recently regarding changing the side indicator ones; maybe do a search for that?
