Hey - I'm pretty sure they don't cost £650 new, in fact if I recall from posts on the forum they cost about £500 fitted - the part can be got for less than £300.

Correct, found this http://www.bmwgenuineparts.co.uk/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=25_63_93&products_id=376&zenid=29187fbaada1929c399957647d88d86b

£310

£350 is too much mate... it's £347 from BMW!

Also, I understand that these are attached with adhesive at the top, has this come off cleanly? Do you have any pictures?

Used I consider it for a pre-facelift mod at no more than £175. You may want to try eBay, you might get lucky with someone that doesn't know what they go for new (you'd be surprised!)

i think we could do with some more pics jaysey, of the top where it has been stuck, of the bottom for scrapes etc etc

cheers

EDIT: do these fit the pre facelift?

i guess we might end up in a little bidding war on ebay if it goes :poke: .... im tempted but definitely not at this price

If it's come off cleanly I would be worth a shout at £175 IMO. More than that and I'm thinking just buy a new one, I've got other things on now so let me know if you're going for it and I won't... hate to diddle a fellow member out of a few extra £££. I'd just be bagging it now for later use anyway.

CJ has a modified one on his car - the profile doesn't match again the pre-facelift bumper so you need to extend the ends and make a section to fit behind. I did have a look at the Aebous meet the other month, it's very neat. Not sure I'd do as good a job... well I wouldn't, not sure how far off I would be!

I take it i got bumped then :o

its been taken off very cleanly and has a very small scratch on the o/s,the rear of the car was too high to scrape anything.

when i had this fitted they had to cut the bumper and fit it with 8mm nuts and bolts supplied by bmw

Cheers for that. if you want to make him an offer just go for it mate, i would just be buying it as a later project aswell as i have a few bits that need sorted first.

This 'Diffuser' is a great mod as we know but they have come down in price in the last few years.

I ordered mine last Summer and paid ~£290 new for it (as far as I remember) from BMW in Portadown. I will need to get the invoice from under the bed to double check. I think I paid an extra £25 to have it delievered to my door.

This diffuser part is similar to the small little Carbon Fibre boot spolier for the coupe. That part (the boot spolier) started off as close to £300 a few years back but it too has come down in price & I paid £152 new for mine just before Xmas (some might say I was mad even paying that much for it!!) .

By the way, I had a friend help me fit my Diffuser last summer and we didnt use any glues, just the nuts/bolts kit that come with the diffuser. So it would be possible to remove it & sell it on again. The only thing is the rear bumper on the car iteslf would be left with a piece cut out (after the diffuser is removed) so I am not sure how / why you would do this (unless you had a replacement bumper??) for the donor Z4. :?

Thanks for that i didnt realise it had come down in price
id be happy to sell it at £170 ono,its still like brand new

£170 sounds a good price for the diffuser in good condition.

As noted above it's a bolt on part so needs no glue or bonding and won't be damaged on removal.
Prospective buyer would have to figure out how to template it as new it comes with a stick on template that shows where to cut and drill the bumper.

It coudl be fitted to a prefacelift but you need to be fairly good at bodywork to cut and fit to the different lower profile of the bumper cover (I can give anyone doing it spare offcuts of CF to do this.

I could be interested but I'm away until the middle of April, so not really in a position to commit to anything fully and I live about as far away from London as its possible to get, that said would you be prepared to post it somehow,

Then all I would have to do is convince cj10 that he really wants to fit another CF splitter to a another pre-facelift Z

Thats not a problem,i can get it send to you and insured....when ever somthing pops up its always a billion miles away lol why is that???
i wouldnt want the responsibility off cutting out a bumper.no thanks id rather cut off my arm
