Z4 2003 3.0i Not starting!

Hey guys! Please help me out. I have tried everything including buying new pump and sending unit, new coil packs, new sparkplugs, new valve cover gasket. Changed the oil. Changed the fuel injectors. What else is the problem with this car . Im getting tired of it now not gonna lie :(
 
Okay. Some days it will start strong with no issues but after that it will not start again. For example today, everything works , all the electronics and lights working. Battery is good just checked it , the voltage is good and the cranking amp is good too. But when i start it it feels like the car is trying to start but not good enough. I have changed the fuel injector’s already assuming it will start but unfortunately no. Noticed there is some smoke coming out of the exhaust too
 
When it won’t start can you bump start it? If so it may be the starter motor on the way out!
 
But it sounds like the OP says it’s turning over just not catching? Ignition? Unburnt fuel coming out the back?

without wanting to Hijack the thread @808bimmerZ4 is this the case, turning over fine but not firing up.

my recent quest of replacing bits was in part due to poor starting. I used the BMW cables software with INPA on to scan the M54 engine variant and it chucked up some codes. these were relating to sensors from what i read. so all of the sensors were replaced apart from the one which is on the rear of the engine inlet side. not sure what it is and didnt know this was there otherwise it would have been done too.
anyway car runs really well but cold starting or starting after its been sat for a while is really bad. cranks ok but no ignition on first try. second fires up and is fine. no codes are showing that i know how to read. cant see any missing or damaged hoses etc

maybe we have the same issue
 
Are you sure the key reader for the immobiliser is also reading the key? Cheap part but fails commonly on e46’s.
 
Crankshaft sensor? I have heard of cases when it was starting to fail, gave no codes but caused problems with starting the engine.
 
Hey guys sorry for the late update. It is working now. I think the car just needed a long ride to get the system back to where it should be. So just a recall, I have changed the fuel injectors, replaced the gasket of the valve cover, replaced the filter and did oil change, also changed the fuel filter assembly and the fuel sending unit. There is one more thing I wanted to ask, since this is a project, it definitely needs TLC, the fuel gauge is not reading the gas in the tank and the level indicator stays only on empty. What else can I do to fix this?
