Z4 2.5i 2006 What price to sell?

I’ve recently had a problem where my car is rough idling and stalls occasionally when stopping at lights. Engine light has come on in amber and fault codes mention Vanos system issues.
Mechanic has informed me it will likely cost £1,500+ to repair so better off selling as it is.
Any advice on how to sell/what price to ask for Z4 2006 2.5i 93,000miles
 
I'd guess you'll maybe get around £3k for it without the fault, so... £1,500?

Might be worth looking into fixing it. Mechanic who says "you're better off selling it" just doesn't want to do the work. Shop around, you might get a better price. If you list the fault codes then others on here might be able to give some advice.

That sounds more like the idle control valve is stuck. I had the exact same issue and it was a £40 part and 3 hours with a socket set to fix it.
 
Does the car drive ok? Any other issues? Did you get your oil level issue sorted?

Price depends on how quick you want to sell it I guess!
 
Error codes are
2A9E canshaft sensor, inlet, synchronizatiom
2A82 VANOS intake
2A87 Exhaust VANOS, mechanism
2A98 Crankshaft-inlet camshaft, correlation
 
Looking at those codes looks like a combination of sensor issues which shouldn’t cost too much to resolve

There is no idle control valve on an N52.

Have you tried the basics such as replacing the VANOS solenoids? Would be a cheap and quick test.
 
Cheers everyone for the replies. I’m going to pay for a proper diagnosis from the specialist and go from there. The original mechanic made it seem as if it was almost certainly a £1,500+ repair based on the codes.
You’ve given me some hope that it may not be that expensive of a repair so worth me paying for the diagnosis.
