Z4 2.5 Damper advice

Hey

Again, i turn back to this forum since it's got the most helpful people I ever came across :) This time, I need to ask a question for a friend with a 2004 Z4 2.5. One of his front dampers is wasted, and he is in the market for a new set. He currently has the M/// dampers and springs (I think) since he has the "sport" button.

Which make / model would you reccomend for his car? Would you reccomend changing fronts and rears or only fronts? Dampers and springs or just dampers?

His ride height must remain the same! And (if possible) the ride preferrably a little softer :)

I know it's a lot to ask, but please share some experience / advice...i want to give him the new set of dampers / springs for his birthday...1 week from now :D

Why not just replace the duff damper - simplest easiest and keeps the same ride height?

If he wants a softer ride that is more likely to be springs than dampers.

Finally if you start changing dampers/springs you need to at least look at all four and ensure that whatever you use will work effectively together. Very unlikely to be able to change to a new manufacturer/setup at one end without also changing the other end

He has to change both front dampers. Should he go for M/// dampers, like the one he currently has? Or is there a better brand to choose?

OEM springs and bilstein b6 dampers would be my first choice given the requirements.

Here OEM ///M dampers are 700 a pair or so I've been told. I'd go for the Bilsteins.

Nah. About £430 a pair from Sopers with a forum discount.
