Z4 2.0L servicing costs / options

Being new to Z4 and indeed BMW ownership, what are the servicing costs to run the Zed 2 litre? I think the oil service is a couple of hundred quid but what about the bigger inspection services? And other than going to a BMW dealer, are there cheaper but BMW focused quality options for servicing - I live in London and would welcome suggestions. :roll:

I looked into this a month or two ago.

This was for my 2.0l SEI 2007

Year 1 No service or Inspection
Year 2 Oil Change £179 (Cov) £160 (Lei)
Year 3 Inspection 15 point if wanted £39 (Cov & Lei)
Year 4 Inspection 1 £295 (Cov) £258 (Lei)
Year 5 Inspection 15 point if wanted £39 (Cov & Lei)
Year 6 Oil Change £179 (Cov) £160 (Lei)
Year 7 Inspection 15 point if wanted £39 (Cov & Lei)
Year 8 Inspection 2 £450ish (Cov) £398 (Lei)

(Cov) = Coventry (Lei) = Leicester

:oops: Silly question time :oops:
My 2.0SE is approaching its 30k service (2.5k to go) and is just 3 years old. Does that mean i'm looking at having the "Year 3 Inspection 15 point if wanted £39" thingymajig? It had it's first inspection at 12k last year, i'm just wondering whats instore for me when i next have to take it in. I am truly, very very sorry for such a daft question... but i am still a car-owning-noob :) I was kinda expecting it to be inspection 2 but you've mentioned "year 8" below and it started me off wondering :?

You'll be wanting the inspection 1
I guess the extra 15 point inspections are for yearly check ups when you don't do high enough milage to need a full oil change or Service 1or2 each year.
 
Thanks - I assume these are BMW main dealer prices?

What is the experience of using BMW specialist garages - do they tend to do a good job and are they going to cost significantly less?

Anyone got a recommended specialist they use in London? :wink:
 
If i was putting big miles on i would follow the service plan but have oil changes instead of the simple 15 point check ups every other year.
