Z4 2.0i M Sport Finance Deals

what does the extended leather consisit off? when i done it on configurator price just jamp £500+

Upgrades to leather the entire dashboard, doors, centre console perhaps more. I had the Pure White Design pack on mine which upgraded the seats to sport seats with Alcantara inserts, doors are half leather half alcantara, dash is part black part cream leather, I'm sure you've seen it. The only areas not covered in leather are the window surround and one side of the centre console. Its a stunning interior and the only one for me.

You can see most of it in this pic.. tho it doesn't show the leather top on the dash, or alcantara on seats/doors.

I totally agree maniac, certainly the best Z4 interior of all,the problem is I've only had mine 6 weeks and I've become neurotic about keeping it clean to the extent of putting on cheapo plastic disposable seat covers for day to day use, I only do a very low mileage how do you and sars who do a lot more miles keep your interiors clean, and while mines still new is there anything to put on the leather to protect it and help to get it clean if I get dirty marks on it

I bought some great stuff (link below) to keep mine clean, works a treat and once a year clean them well and put on some protection/seal spray and it makes cleaning them a breeze. I don't find mine soil as quickly as I was worried they might so I clean them every 2/3 months to keep them looking nice.

The products I bought are the combo GT15 Foam Cleaner which is very very good and also GT16 Aerosol Protector.

Hi guys,

New to the forum - been reading this start to finish with much interest!

Off to see dealers this weekend looking to test (booking in progress - sounds like this could be wishful thinking!) and buy a Z4 20i :D

I was wondering if you could help me out with what a good deal would look like.

Looking at an M-Sport model, with a few extras that push it up to about £37k (nav system, heated seats etc.)

Thinking 36 months finance (assume that this is best as still in warranty - could consider 48 months). Not part exchanging.

What should I be looking for as a good deal in terms of:

Customer deposit (as little as possible! - £3k ish is doable)
Dealer deposit (looks like £8-9k all-in is a "really good deal" :D - should I be looking at the top end of the discount if i'm buying more extras?)
Monthly payments (want to keep below £400)
APR (assume 4.9% is the only answer here)
Repayment at the end (want this to be as high a % of the OTR price as possible I think?)

This is actually the first car i've bought in about 8 years (live in London) so any negotiation tips would be gratefully received! (For example, do I tell them all the extras I want up front or let them throw them in as we negotiate?) :?

Thanks guys - childishly excited about getting one of these!

Rob

Production slots that are eligible for the offer are limited. Don't waste your time at a dealer without allocation.

Your first question should be "Can I order a Z4 from you that will qualify for the current offer?"

The extras will push the payments up more than you may think. To get a close approximation of what the extras will add to the payment, add them up and put them into a finance calculator at 4.9% for 36 months.

Judging by some of the offers people have got here - you should be looking at getting minimum £8.5k dealer deposit (comprising deposit and free sat nav offer) £1-2k deposit (normally dependent on how mental you go with the options) and payments around £330 - 400pcm.

Thank you guys!

Got a test drive slot at Hexagon Highgate tomorrow and will check with Cooper reading if they have the offers available before I go see them Saturday.

After that its an email-athon to pit dealers off against each other next week...

I added loads of extras to mine initially, but am using the equity in the part ex (about £6k) to cover the deposit of £1500 and pay for the extra's and got the monthly's down to £260 over 48 mths, with just over £8.5k dealer deposit. Then I added nav and various bits, but am paying for those up front so the monthlys stay the same.

The dealer deposit is made up of 3 things:

1.Money from BMW to cover the free upgrade to MSport. This is £3k ish

2.Equipment allowance of £2225 from BMW. This is a straight discount, but some refer to it as free sat nav - you can have any equipment, or just take the discount.

3.Dealer discount. Mine gave me 10%, so over £3k.

I think 1 comes off the price of the car, and 2+3 get added to your deposit, but together they do add up.

Even after adding £3k worth of accessories with the sat nav etc, they wouldn't give me any more discount. I'm sure they must make a bit on such things.

In the US, markup on options is about 10%. (MSRP for nav is $2150 and invoice is $1955). UK should be similar maybe £300 on your car.

There is markup in the service plans.

The big profit items are seal and protect, tyre insurance and gap insurance. If you want any of those, there should be room for a good discount.

Dealer has to make some profit. They aren't a charity.

i think its easily possible to get it here's the spec i ordered and if you take off the auto gearbox and substitute for sat nav, you will be at around the same mark.... also the deposit is a lot smaller too

20i M Sport
Alpine White
Coral Red Leather
19 inch alloys
Auto flappy paddle
Cruise Control
Heated Seats
Heated Steering Wheel
Wind Deflector
Grey Shade Band
Model Designation Deletion
5 Year Service Pack
8k Annual Mileage

the finance terms are approximately £1k deposit and £400 pcm for 36 months. dealer contribution is about 8.5k. dealer is douglaspark glasgow

He said to me they werent making anything on my car and that they are still happy for the business as it helps their quotas etc.

I reckon they are making plenty on it! Plus they will make money on the car we part ex.

I did screw a tank of fuel and keyring out of him, but at the end of the day (ha, apart from the £8.5k discount) I think its the customer who gets screwed!

The deal we got was basically £309 deposit and £300/month for 48 months for the standard car.

We are paying for the few extras we chose up front to keep the monthly payments the same, so our actual deposit is around £1400, then the £300 per month.

Therefore, you should be able to get a similar deal which would be = Deposit of £309+"Cost of any Extras", plus £300 per month.

Alternatively you could 'finance' the extras, which would give a lower deposit but higher monthly payments.

This is all at the minimum £8k miles p.a. so any increased mileage allowance would add to this.

Unless you're doing high miles or planning on keeping it a long time, the service pack is probably not worth it. The car will need an oil service after year 2, then won't need another service until the end of year 4.

He is probably telling you the truth, but not all of it. It is hard to be sure in the UK because BMW still keeps everything secret. In the US we know what the dealer pays for the car and what incentives BMW gives a dealer too.

I've compared what we are getting on these cars to what I know about the US market. £8.5K off is probably what Americans call a "Skinny Deal." There is a some up-front profit in it but the sales person makes the minimum commission. As a guess less than £200. At some point it just isn't worth it to them any more.

It has been my experience that US dealers will never take a deal that has less than $500-$800 up-front profit in it. We used to buy our BMWs for a no-haggle $1000 over costs. Dealer would sell us cars at that mark up all day long. Sales guy is only making a couple of hundred. Rest goes to the manager, finance guy and the dealership.

At the back end, Dealers markup the finance, but it looks the BMW offer has taken those out of the deal. The finance fees on our MINI were over £400 but on the Z they are £10. There is back-end profit on insurance products and the seal and protect, but only if you take them.

In the US, if a dealer makes quota and you give them all 5's on the customer satisfaction survey, BMW pays them a bonus. If you don't give them the highest possible CSI score, they get nothing. -- The bonus is about 7% ---- If the UK works the same, that is where the dealer profit is on these cars.

Prebuilts are all gone, because BMW announced a deal that started late on Friday on prebuilt m sports, giving an additional £1500 incentive to the car. Equivalent to a free comfort pack.

Dealer has been trying for me yesterday/today without success. All built cars are gone!!

Looks like it's a new order for me with an estimated delivery time of end of May.

Thats weird my dealer is trying to push me towards a pre-built. Will give £7.5k dealer contribution on factory order but £10.5k on pre-built.

If they are desperately selling the showroom cars, does this not mean a facelift is coming? They do need showroom cars after all....

Hi Talbs14,
Any chance you let me know which dealer is offering 10.5k on a pre-built?

Cheers!

Hi genelennon,
Yeah its Scotthall Watford. Hurry though 2 days ago he said 6 left in the country! I'dve got one but I want the cream seats and they only had black left

Cheers for that, bought a couple of BMW's from Scotthall dealerships so I'll give them a try.

I take it the 6 left are the pre-builts and you can still get a factory order until end of March?
