Z4 2.0 cat
Main CAT, so the big system from bottom of manifold to the rear of the car. This is all one piece, I didn’t realise until I went to collect!
My Z4 failed its MOT last week on emissions and I didn’t want to pay the £700 plus for this part from BMW, that's without the also very expensive manifold CAT system.
The 2.0 is the only model that an aftermarket CAT is not available for unfortunately.
I managed to find a replacement full system for £500 from a breaker in Birmingham so I collected that last week.
The full exhaust system is in 2 bits with 3 CATS as I understand it. 2 in the manifold down pipes and 1 in the main exhaust part.
When I bought this replacement system I asked the garage to isolate the fault on my car by using these new bits, i.e. try old manifold with new main system and re-test, new manifold with old main system and re-test etc.
This process of elimination determined that with this main part and my new manifold the MOT was passed – my manifold CATS were at fault. So I asked them to use the complete replacement system on my car hence this being available.
So, if you have a CAT fault and fancy using this as a cheap alternative that we know does pass an MOT then it’s in Chester ready for collection.
Hope the above makes sense, please get in touch if not!
I’m after £250 ish.
Thanks,
Glenn
