My soft top quit working so I pulled the top using the instructions found on this web site. Once I pulled the top, I found that the hydraulic cylinder was leaking. I removed both cylinders and sent them to TopHydraulics to have them rebuild them. I installed both cylinders back onto the soft top and I build a rig to hold the top in place so I can add the needed hydraulic fluid back into the system to get the top to operate again. I read that the hydraulic pump is self priming, so I thought that adding the needed fluid to the pump reservoir was all that I needed to do. I looks as if I am wrong as I can not get the fluid to circulate through the system.
What am I doing wrong and what do I need to do to get the air out of the system?
