Z3 project...no going back now!

There’s a massive lack of photos on this thread. Just saying, we want to see how you’re getting on.

Theres a pic on page 1.
Just imagine the same but with a few months worth of dust covering it.

No pictures recently as not very interesting to look at TBH.

My proudest work so far is the cover over the original rear view mirror mount. The metal mount doesn't come off without smashing the windscreen, so I found a bottle lid which fits perfectly. Sprayed it black and stuck it over the mount. It will have a 'period' sticker at some point in the future.

Lots of painting and all the prep that entailed. Bonnet release and brackets installed. New wiper motor installed (but not wired yet).
Body and new bumper brackets installed. I had to fabricate a lot of the body bracketry as the seller of my kit had 'other' ideas as to how the body should be fitted! Still can't work out how he thought it was going to stay attached TBH.

Thank you for the photos Pondrew. Excellent so far, am enjoying the progress and really looking forward to seeing the finished car.

You shouldn’t give away your secrets - no one would have guessed what it is

Your answer is in the thread title,

"no going back in the garage now!"

Tim.

Adjusted for accuracy.

Having sold some of the BMW parts, there’s a chance that “no going back together now” might be more accurate! :D

This turned up today! I do like a bit of bling. I know it's a little early for such frivolities and is like wanting "smoke coming out of the chimney before the foundations are dug" but hey! Need to sort a suitable horn push to replace the black generic one.

Looks really exciting Andy. Looking forward to seeing the finished object.
