Must be but at that sort of price your in E89 territory and there's no way on earth I'd be puting over £10k in to a Z3 as much as I like them

I must admit I was quite surprised when I read that article yesterday.

Maybe it's being driven by the crazy level of Z3M prices?

There's a few Z3's on Autotrader.

2000 plate 3.0 21,000 miles £15,000
2002 plate 3.0 89,000 miles £13,499
2001 plate 3.0 49,650 miles £10,995
2001 plate 3.0 68,000 miles £10,500

I have heard they are destined to be the next classic although I also heard the 4 cylinder models aren't worth much at all, it has to be the facelift 6 cylinder engine models in near concourse condition. I tried to buy a 2.8 Z3 before ending up with the Z4 but they kept to going up in price almost on a daily basis and sold almost immediately as I kept looking so I gave up and settled for the Z4 - although no complaints now.

The Z3 was a bond car. 8) Beauty is in the eye of the beholder  and old sports cars generally become minor classics what ever, as they become rarer with time. So no surprise at all. They are also easier to work on as few electronics.

None of which makes up for handling like an ox cart. :P

I’ve had a z3 2.8 whilst it is pretty car, you sit on the seats were as on a Z4 e85 3.0 of which I’ve owned 2 you sit in it and feel more involved when you drive it. I took mine for a track day at Oulton park where as I wouldn’t have taken the Z3.
I am a current owner of a Z4 yet another midlife crisis car. It makes me smile when I drive it.

A few Z3's coming through from Japan, low mileage rust free: https://www.thecarwarehouse.co.uk/vehicle/1267/bmw-z3 or how about a 10,000 mile 2.0 auto: https://www.thecarwarehouse.co.uk/vehicle/1394/bmw-z3
