Anyone 'upgraded' from a Z3 in the past?

I loved it. Had it for about 4 years. Had to have the exhaust changed a couple of times as the cat kept breaking up. Was a fault with them apparently but that's the only complaint I had. :wub:

hi. yep wife still has her z3 2.8 only done 46k. brillant car, think it could be more of a classic than the z4

Lovely looking motors aren't they? (Well, James Bond can't be wrong!!) Your pics are brilliant.

I always preferred the Z3 shape to the Z4 until the E89 shape. Liked the more rounded lines.

Yep,

I had two. an early 2.8 (in Montrel blue, like yours) and a later a 3.0 individual in Topaz with two tone extended leather. - it seemed pretty special at the time!

Sorry you lot but i thought the Z4 was a massive step up in looks from the Z3, for me just an awful looking thing with those "over the top" slats in the front wings and that goofy front end, a great car i expect but not for me. :thumbsdown:

Almost ...

If the damn steering wheel tilted I would have had the one I drove before I got my Z4, but it was just too cramped. The Z4 is much more adjustable and roomy. Still, I like the way the Z3 looks, although I think I've come to appreciate the E85 Z4 even more. The Z3 is a beautiful motor though.

Hey Carol yes! had (still have) a 2001 3.0 currently selling on eBay as she's a little tired and needs some TLC Loved every minute of it (since 2005 to date since buying Z4M 2 weeks ago). Much more of a "go-cart"/ rocket in a trolly in feel by comparison and never let me down 8) More feminine shape than the z4.

Dont know why but im seeing z3s everywhere at the moment, more than I see z4s!
