I said I’d post some pics of my new Z4 3.0Si SE once the bonnet had been fixed. Here she is.

Monaco Blue, Beige Leather. 83k miles. Really pleased with Si compared to my previous 3.0i. Noticeably lighter in the nose! If anyone on her has previously owned her, do please get in touch. And please forgive the poor photography…

Sound mod completed this afternoon. 😀IMG_4238.jpeg

@Melman very nice, do I spy full leather?
Welcome. I’m only down the road in Bournemouth, good to see another local car.

@RMB Thanks - And yes, inside it’s a full beige vision! We’re reasonably regular visitors your way in the summer. I’ll keep an eye out 👍

Very beautiful! I love the beige interior, although I'm biased because I have the same interior color :p

Your headlights look SO clear and clean! I wish mine were like that!

Welcome to your 2nd Zed.

The 3.0Si is a fantastic engine and it's interesting that it feels lighter at the front than your 3.0i, so maybe that alloy block was a good step forwards!

Thanks everyone, it’s great to hear your positive comments. I’m really pleased with my find at a decent price.

Completely echo the advice to travel for the right car - in this case Salisbury to Burnley - but totally worth it. 😊 Don’t settle for paying more money, for what’s not quite right, just because it’s down the road. The long drive home makes for a good get to know you experience with your new purchase.

If a previous owner is on here, I’d love to hear from you - especially if you know if the water pump has been replaced! (No issues but at 80k plus)…

Inspection 2 done, Rear shocks and coils replaced. Brake lines being replaced front to back in 2 weeks. 4 x Goodyear Asymmetric 6 added. Savings being slightly depleted but smiles increasing by the mile!

I’ve got to mention that I prefer the new forum - the same great advice but IMO easier to use. Thank-you to everyone who makes this a great place and keep up the good work. 👍

You need to be willing to travel when looking for a rarer model, and with less than 1,000 E85 3.0Sis coming to the UK you have bought a rare car, but Salisbury to Burnley is quite a trek!

The problem with the water pumps is you don't get any issues until they just die, then the engine overheats within a mile. :(

Yours is an early model so probably has the silver-top N52 engine that my 2nd 3.0Si had. It seemed to be on the original water pump when I sold it on 91K miles.

My 1st 3.0Si had the later black-top N52k with a revised water pump. Sadly the revision doesn't seem to have been an improvement because that pump died after just 10 years and 60K miles.

My E91 325i with a silver-top N52 had a pump die at 135K, but I've no idea whether it was the original or a replacement.

I'm playing water pump roulette with my current E90 330i that has done 128K, but can understand why people replace them as a preventative measure to avoid being stranded. But as I'm retired time is less of an issue for me.

Yes, it’s the silver top. It’s an expensive bit of preventative surgery. Reading your experience I’m not going to rush, but will get it done before embarking on any serious road trips next year.
