Z going in tomorrow

Bought my Z last year with 70k miles so lots of stone chips, so took the plunge and booked it in to a local body shop to get them sorted. I am having the front bumper, bonnet and the front of the wings re-painted. The guy seemed to know what he was doing, he showed me around the workshop, there were some nice cars in being done, looked at some of his work, so agreed a price and it goes in tomorrow pick it up Thursday :cry: I'll let you know how I get on
 
Will look so fresh, but then every stone chip will annoy the hell out of you :lol:

When i had my e46 done, the next week they redid the main road, and with bolders it seemed :thumbsdown:
 
I'll just strap the wife across the bonnet, might not do the aerodynamics a lot of good but she should the stones :lol: :lol:
 
mines on about the same mileage and needs pretty much the same. can ask how much you've been quoted?
 
It's been a few weeks since I had the front sprayed on the Z, I must say I am please with the results, local sprayshop (Auto Effects in Barton Le Clay) was very helpfull and took a lot of time explaining how they were going to do it and showing me round the spray shop, I have posted one before photo taken in my garage the night before ( raining so I could not take it out side) the rest are the "afters" taken outside (no rain)

Looks good. I was gonna do similar thing but with pretty much all down the sides as well and was quoted £900. I ummed and arred and in the end, upon the spray guys suggestion I just got the main parts worked on (plus full wheel refurbs) as the bumper is always gonna get chips and party as its winter so shitty driving conditions plus i wil likely be upgrading her next year anyway.
 
Thanks everyone, I was the same, couldn't make up my mind whether to go ahead, not only because of the cost but getting a good bodyshop is difficult, as you hear all sorts of horror stories, now its done it was worth it the shop I used gave me a lot of confidence, I will be using him again and would definately recommend this place.
 
Get some sort of clear bra installed soonest. The chips will begin reappearing immediately unless you drive in reverse all the time.
 
Had my front end ( bumper,bonnet and wing tops ) done 2 years ago, still looks pretty good.The road rash looks really pants on a saphire black one.
