I have a 2007 purchased recently in red. When I looked at a 2007 on-line original dealer advertisement, the brochure said exterior color was offered in "red". It doesn't seem to mention either "bright red" or "imola red".

Very true it does, the 3.0 only came in bright red, whereas the Z4M came only in Imola Red and well 1 standard e85 uk, but that link i sent you is definitely bright red, not Imola

The reference to imola red in the advert is for the interior.
