I am posting this as a warning for those that are considering purchased badges from Ian Clifton, forewarned is forearmed...
I wanted to get some black/white badges for my car, and following numerous good reviews I decided to purchase them from Ian Clifton as I wanted as close to OEM quality as possible.
I purchased the indicator badges first at a cost of £45 inc delivery. They were very good quality and included the locating holes making installation much easier. As I was pleased with these badges I decided to purchase the boot and bonnet badges, costing a further £45 including delivery.
When these arrived I was disappointing to find the rear badge was wonky and the front badge was not secured properly, and was sticking up at one side (see picture). This would obviously allow the elements to get behind the badge and it was clear it would not stay attached for long. I contacted Ian and an exchange was arranged.
The replacements arrived and I was pleased to find the rear badge was straight this time. However I was unhappy to see the front badge still wasn't secured properly and this time I could see what appeared to be double sided tape sticking out. On closer inspection I could see the black/white badge was actually a sticker. I lifted the sticker off to find a standard OEM badge underneath. On closer inspection this sticker appears to be identical to a 65mm sticker that is sold on eBay to go on wheel caps. It would appear Ian picks up second hand OEM 70mm badges, sticks the sticker on it and charges £20 for them. Obviously this is not what I was expecting and the result was pretty poor.
For anyone considering purchasing replacement badges I would recommend getting the indicator badges from Ian as they come with the mounting holes making installation much easier. However I would avoid the bonnet badge at all costs as it is a bit of a rip off and something you could easily do yourself for a considerable saving.
