Your Z4 Moment of 2011

sorry - meant to also mention some frequent runs along the A719 quite near us on route to long walks along the beach at Troon - a quite splendin road with some very fast stretches and fine see through bends.....will build into a forum route some time.

Best bits of the year for me were the North Wales run with Guiseley, after such a bad winter it was just fantastic to be out on the roads again. The National meet was such a great combination of driving and socialising with like minded Zedders. For sheer thrills the late meet in October and the blast up to Alston and Hartside Moor takes the honours
It looks certain I'll be keeping the 'M' for a sixth year as nothing gives me so much driving joy even after all this time. Roll on the first meet for 2012 :driving:

Every time I start the car and drive away is an adventure, this year has been fantastic, I look forward to next spring. :ilz4f:

Every day I can drive my Z makes me feel alive.
Pitty I'm leaving for Dubai, it'll make my return holidays even more special.

Checking the on-board computer after the second week of 'enthusiastic' ownership and still seeing it returning a nudge over 30mpg - mad! :D

(oh, and falling in love on the test drive... )

Driving my z across Arizona into New Mexico and fighting through hundreds of miles of twistys, all the while in hot pursuit of the M roadsters and M coupes that insisted on leading the way ( I wonder why ??) The 130mph bits were a bit nervewracking, waiting for the inevitable lights and sirens.....

On the neg side, having a complete and utter electrical shutdown while travelling at 70mph in the fast lane, at dusk.

Parking the Zed in the Summer with everyone watching and using the gaptech module to close the roof as I walked away..........and trying not to look back to see if it had worked ok

Also taking the Zed to a car show and seeing people actually taking photos of it :o

2 highlights, a road trip to the south of France in June, glorious sunshine for most of the way. The best bit, blasting up to 150 on the motorway without my built in speed limiter ( her indoors) realising how fast we were going. When I fessed up what speed we'd been doing, she said she'd enjoyed it.That's a first!!! :D The second was keeping an M5 ( V10 version) behind me when he tried to blow me away one night on the A45. We both sat on the speed limiters until other traffic got in the way, what a laugh. :driving:

Screaming through the Scottish country side on the way to loch eck games with the noise echoing off the hillsides 8)

Spent all day Saturday cleaning and polishing the Zed, then went out at night to a VERY expensive Hotel/Resort in Santa Barbara for Company Christmas party. 65 degrees, top down, pulled up the the front circle and watched the head Valet run to the car to open the door. He looked at me and winked, and said "I'll park it close, sir."
He parked it in the circle of Bentleys, Ferraris, Porsches, Maseratis, and RRs that were in front of the Hotel. Got to say, my car still looked the best. Wish I had a picture.
Upon leaving, I did not even have to submit the receipt for my car, the Valet saw me coming and ran straight to the car. As I walked out of the front door, seeing my car parked amongst all those beautiful cars, again - and definitely holding it's own, was the best for me!
Valet got a pretty fat tip....

Sammy z's Wales meet, and the National meet in the Lakes/Dales,getting to drive some great routes, and a chance to meet up with friends/fellow forumites old and new.....
Not to mention getting airborne once or twice(on the national meet). :D

FINALLY getting to a Scottish meet, and meeting you guys/gals.

Driving home after the National meet weekend,on the Strathven/Kilmarnock road,at night...totally empty and having a blast

Various sunny drives (with and without the mrs),round parts of Scotland, just for pure driving pleasure :driving:

OH,and getting mine and johns(sammyz),article on the Forum meet in the BMW Carclub mag/with lots of lovely pics

Nice - dramatic but harmless, the best kind of spin

Yes, but all that red Oklahoma dust didin't taste very good after it drfited through the cockpit!

Had one rear tire that didn't hold air very well until we cleaned about 3 tablespoons of dirt out from between the tire and the rim!
