Your Z4 Moment of 2011

At least 2 of you have referred to best moments of 2012! I do have a hangover that would kill a civilian (and I wasn't even going to go out last night) but I can't have slept through a whole year surely?

Anyway, picking up the Zed and the drive home...and yes I do still grin when I fire her up. She may be an early '53 3.0i but she's mine!!!

Looking forward to making more memories in 2012 (or 2013 if I have done a Rapunzel)

Wow, where to start.
As others have said Skye was great despite the weather, it's scenery never fails to amaze me, as does the run into Mallaig.

Islay was.............well mechanical sympathy took over as I got sick of hearing things constantly grinding out on the blacktop, but such a great BBQ on the Saturday night (with the exception of Malcom's antics).

The transformation of the Zed as I fitted the clear headlights and M bumper almost like having a new car, and as Mr Osbourne is not stealing quite as much as I expected in the New Year from me I might finally get round to doing what will hopefully be last bit of modding (honest MrsG)

But I think possibly the best moment was driving back from Portpatrick with clear blue skies above and the sunlight glinting off the waters of the Solway Firth as we hurtled down a deserted A75 with Mr & Mrs Nosa behind us, the mornings slight hangover a result of far to much Red wine the previous evening fading into a distant memory, a moment very closely repeated with Mr & Mrs Jimmypop, only spoilt by me trying to give myself a concussion as we walked around around Carsluith Castle.

Roll on 2012 :driving:

Best moment/time,was holidaying at a cabin in the woods and finding out that our zed would take everything we wanted to take and bring back(with some lovely top down motoring while there) :)

Loved the National Meet back in July. Some great driving, met some nice folks and best weather of the year.
Can't wait for next year. :-)

upgrading to an ///M (twice),

That will be me then.

Have to say though getting an ///M or two has to be the best thing this year, it's so addictive especially the noise (another good reason not to have a coupe)

Will start the modding in 2012 to get it up to my standard.

Another Great year of Z moments
Way too many to choose an absolute winner

But if I have to then it would be from late Feb, Driving from Dunfermline up throught to Braemar through the spittal of Glenshee,
beautifull sunny winters day, perfect roof down weather, passing through all the 100s of skiers in glenshee as they all wathched us cruise through roof down shades and smiles.

Skye, again Just superb, the run back when I took a straight thru S bend at a naughty speed and my passengers Iphone being dropped as he gripped the dash, Still makes me laugh

Me and Jimmypop Hooning down the empty bowmore road early morning
weaving the road, Superb

The visit to Mr n Mrs RichardG's Great drive to get there, great drive whilst there, not to mention Richards Winning "come dine with me" dinner, and a Fantastic drive home, great company, food & wine, and great driving

On top of all this I have never had a grumble from my car. Coz its great.

Top thread.

What plans have you got mate?

Nothing radical, Black grills (this weekend), Full Paint Correction, Reinhold remote and one touch modules, Dension iPod Interface, illuminated ZHP short shift.

Later on would like Aero sills, strut brace, CSL's but nothing that can't be returned to standard.

Road trip through France round the Dordogne... only had my first Zed just over a month, was going to take the oil burner but thought WTF to the cost of fuel... the only time the hood was up as when it was being washed... only saw one other Z4 the whole time I was there & that was parked up.

Happy dayz

Using it as mode of transport to get married in in April ....pretty special arriving at the venue in the Z4 which i had clayed polished and waxed before hand so it shone.

other than that it would be getting bored one afternoon with the wife at work and driving aberdeenshire via the lecht to aviemore and then pitlochory and then that road through glenshee home... :driving:

Meet count not been the highest for me this year but hopefully 2012 will change that.

Collecting my 8 year old lad from school on the day I took delivery of my Z4MC back in August.

"I'm going to be the coolest kid in class now Dad!"

Priceless from the boy who is already almost impossible to impress...!?!

The last NE meet of the year, just a few weeks after buying my M. It was good to get back into the swing of things with some forumites and I got to know the new car at the same time.

Roll on the new year and this years national meet

Despite covering incredibly few miles this year, I still had a LOT of memorable moments in my Z4. I guess that's the beauty about driving it less: drives feel more special. Saying that, managing 4 runs with the forum was a highlight in itself :)

Too hard to pick one, so in reverse order:

5. Buying and fitting my new interior - it's a bit, err, yellow...

4. Actually managing to get us all on the ferry from Mallaig to Skye this year after a bit of a cock up last year - you guys have no idea how relieved I was that it went off without a hitch!

3. The banter/BBQ/generally the whole weekend of the Islay meet. The quality of the roads was "interesting" but we expected that and were there for the whisky and chat. Cracking weekend and well-planned by Nosa

2. The driving on the Skye meet - no matter how many times I drive those roads to/from Skye, I'll never tire of them. Great banter too with fellow z4-forumer's - grateful Nosa too his new "wheel modification" well too!

1. The Oban run earlier in the year. An absolutely cracking day, tops down in the sun, but it was memorable as it absolutely made my mum's day that I brought her along for a ride in the Z4. I'm also very grateful that the others didn't take the p*ss (too much) for me bringing my mum to a meet!

Bring on 2012 :driving:

best moment was a trip to the alps done 1800 miles and the z4 was brillant heres a couple of pics first at the top of the col st bernard petit

Great idea for a thread pawnSacrfice - apologies for being late to the party. Thanks Bradders75 for the name check - that blast on the final stretch to Mallaig was certainly amongst my year highlights too.

Other highlights for us include a great run up the A93 - Glenshee road - one late afternoon/early evening to meet my sister and head for the Alford Highland Games - a great stretch of road and one that I think we're all keen on building into a 2012 forum run.

All the forum runs were great with Skye & Islay exceptional. Loved the run over the Islay hills past the llamas with Guiseley, Bradders75 & MalcZ4 - though I was grounding a fair bit either due to mud flaps, Eibachs or maybe just me being a tad chunky.

We also had a fine run back to the ferry terminal on the final morning. Forum runs undoubtedly amongst the best zed days...roll on 2012. :driving:
