Your z4 in any colour

Hey,

I'm getting quotes for some paint repair and I'm also going to enquire about full resprays or wraps which got me thinking. If you could change the colour of your car, what would you change it to? Would you keep it classic, or push the boat out?

Classic Sepang 8) is the only one I prefer to Silver Grey. :) Some interesting metalic reds in another recent thread.

It would depend on the value of the car and cost of the spray job - If the car was fairly new, I would keep it Classic. If an older car and a reasonably priced spray job then I would probably risk a daring / bold colour change.

The bottom line is , Whatever YOU fancy - its all very personal.

Yeah so I'm asking you what would you do?

As I said, if it was a higher value car I would leave it a standard colour - if an older car I would probably go bold.
My car isn't three yet so I would keep it bog standard as it came out of the box.

I don't know how old your car is?

None standard colours are "Marmite" so you could expect a hard time when it comes to sell if you choose wrongly - most standard colours don't often offend.

Ron I’m not sure that your hypothesis holds...as you know I have a predilection for more robust colours

I track specifically the yellow E89s..and my experience is that they shift pretty quickly compared to the more mature Mercedes Benz colours.. :poke:

As Amy would say I’d go back to black. Always the best colour in my eyes just looks mean & ready for business.

I’d like my coupe in a solid bright blue. (Porsche have a great blue, on their 911GT models).
I love candy green too.

IMO if you have an eye to future resale and retained value: White might be a fairly safe alternative?

I really like the frozen grey of the new one, and think the E89 would look sick in that colour. Alternatively I'd go for a nice blue.

I think you misunderstand - nothing wrong with bold colours when they are factory available - but In general I refer to none standard / individual colours - a lot of them are very Marmite.

Personally, I like the Yellow of your car and it stands out.
I don’t think I would have chosen the Grey of my car if I’d had a free and available choice but I don’t think many would not buy it because it’s a dull colour.

We have an M4 running round Plymouth wrapped in a matt dark green/gold mix.
Sounds awful but looks stunning, shows every single contour of the car....
