Well obviously, and they don't make millions of pounds net profit every year? Christ, I hope you don't work in customer service with that attitude, would you just apply the 'sorry for the delay and the lack of comms after the vast amount of dough you've spent with us, but nobody's died so relax' line to every disgruntled customer? Sure that would go down a treat.

You need to relax sailor :P We don't know the dealers side of things, the emperor's above story has changed a couple of times along with some conspiracy stuff about new reg etc. He has the use of their demo car which is probably an upgrade to what he has bought and might depending how he conducts himself obtain a free service or similar. All to wait an extra week for delivery, its not worth causing your ballbag to explode.

Do you work for BMW or something?
Emperor, the salesman that sold you the car wasn't called Matt Walters by any chance? Now that would be a conspiracy! :P

f**k no:!: I couldn't handle the moaning general public. :poke:

In all seriousness OP I am sure its just been 'one of those things' general mistake. Hope you get your car next week.

Well, I'm pleased to report a solution to this saga! I went to Sytner BMW this morning who have informed me that they are sending a truck to fetch the car on Monday and it will be available for collection on Wednesday afternoon absolute latest. In the meantime, they are lending me a 2 series until tomorrow when I can go collect their Z4 demo and use that until Wednesday. Confidence restored! I am pleased that they have seen fit to do this as it shows they do own up to a mistake and will try to make amends.

Happy with that! Cheers for the great replies chaps! Can't wait to enter the world of Z4 motoring!

Don't agree to be honest, yes these things happen but it doesn't make it right, whether anyone's 'died' or not is completely out of context and nothing to do with it! I don't think the OP's complaining about the circumstance as such, more the lack of comms which cost nothing and is plain courtesy. You'd expect that as a minimum when paying a large amount of money to a marque such as BMW. If the dealer's said a car is arriving on a certain date which you plan around and then it's not going to turn up until a week later, then the least I would expect is use of another car in the meantime, not as a 'favour' or 'we didn't have to do that'. We're talking about BMW with millions of pounds worth of profit here not a back street cowboy car dealer :|

Not sure i agree with your disagreement tbh :p

BMW are no longer a premium brand, imo, least so in customer service and sales quality. They were once exclusive, desirable and better than all the competition. The brand you HOPED you might get offered on your company car list. These days - the XE beats the 3 series (assuming you can find your 318d underneath all the M badges weighing it down), anything less than a 3 series (except the i3 and 1M you can no longer buy) is not as good as a base model golf and the only thing holding onto the premium title are the M4/6 etc cars that are a disappointment versus their predecessors, and current competitors. The only dealership i've received good service from is Park Lane BMW in London, who are BMW UK anyway. If you're still going into BMW showrooms expecting this, i think you'll constantly be disappointed. I'd expect more from a marque OTHER than BMW or any reasonable independent tbh. Most BMW Sales/Service are on par with Estate Agents and Carpet Salesmen.

The lack of comms isn't something to be surprised about, the one thing i would quiz is why it takes a week to load it onto a truck and drive it down, they should be able to do it inside 48 hours, at your convenience. I'd say screwing up where the car actually is is a pretty serious mess up so it's no wonder they've made the effort to sort a loaner - and lucky you for it! Gotta love a free extended test drive.

I'd not of been surprised if this thread was discussing the total lack of compensation or consideration towards the problem they've caused (that's what i expected when clicking the link!).
