Your previous cars

Pretty much anything you like that's RWD. It's essentially the same as a Caterham, but with independent rear suspension, and fibreglass not aluminium bodywork. Common engines include Ford / Vauxhall / Rover V8 / bike engines. They're as aerodynamic as a brick, but since they weigh the same as a brick, they go like stink and handle like nothing else :D

wasn't there a song about the ford cortina?

'Ullo John got a New Motor' by Alexi Sayle was allegedly about the Ford Cortina. It was written around the time that the Cortina was replaced with the Sierra. I don't actually recall 'Cortina' being anywhere in the lyrics though.

Humber Sceptre
Ford Escort MK1 1100
Austin Maestro (VDP not that that makes much difference)
Peagot 405 GRD
Ford Escort 1.6
Freelander Td4

VW Beetle 2.0 (New shape)
Rover Sreeetwise 1.4 (Its a beast)

Taz, don't remember any song about a Cortina, but the nickname came from this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nqqZ28m8uCo

Time to "Fes" up

Triumph 1500 TC
Triumph 1500 TC (rather liked them)
Talbot Sunbeam 1.0 LS (Having insurance issues, cracking car even towed a boat with it despite diminutive engine))
Fiat Strada 75CL (Predictable rust issues Unpredictable Electrical issues) I am told FIAT is an Acronym for Fix it Again Toni
Fiat Strada 75CL (Yeh alright so I am a glutten for punishment)
Fiat X19 (great fun)
Toyota MR2 Mk1 (Loved that car)
Jaguar XJS 3.6 (Ditched when it became a money pit)
Mazda MX5 Mk1 1.6VS? (So uncomfortable after Jag but great handling!)

Z4 3.0

1.6L Capri
2.0 Capri S (crashed)
1.6 Orion GL (sold and used in a robbery according to the police who turned up on my door step)
2.0 GL Cavilier (seems like i like a car that has a GL on the back)
1.8 Golf auto
Jaguar XJS 4.0
1.9 Gold Diesel

Mine goes like this:

And now the Coupe and a 1972 TVR 1600m

Quality thread. Often had similar conversations down the pub. Nostalgic trip down an automotive memory lane!

I've had a few for my youngish 32 years.

1983 Fiesta popular. Mint condition and my ticket to adolescent freedom!
1988 Pug 205. 1.4XS. Loved it. Lightweight and nimble.
1988 Toyota Corolla 1.6GL. Inherited from Mum. Solid, reliable and disgusting beige interior. Rear ended someone at 30mph. Rebuilt the front end and modded it to look like a GTi 16.
1992 MkII Astra GTE 2.0 1.6v. First car bought on spec, rather than value! Loved it. Went like stink. Totalled it at a whopping 20mph. Eyes on the road boy!!
1990 MkII VW Getta 1.6 TE. Bought for value and low insurance. Hated it. Boatey and maintenance nightmare. Spent about £400 in parts with GSF Car Parts in about 8 months.
1995 Mk1 Mondeo 2.0Si. Bargain at £1000. Loved it. Never put a foot wrong in 2 years. Only sold it when I got my 1st company car.
2005 Mk5 Astra 1.6 Sxi. What a joke. A case of dubious style over lacking performance and shocking mpg.
2005 Pug 307 1.6hdi. Good little diesel engine torque and 65+mpg!! The misses loved the styling. Just another cheap company car.
2007 Volvo V5 D5. Embarrassed to get my 1st Volvo at only 28 years old. But what a car! Stonking engine. Phenomenal distance cruiser. Very well specced, banging sound system, fast and comfortable. I'd buy another, for the wife.
2001 VW MkIV Golf V6 4 motion. Temporary car while searching for the ideal Z4, after handing back the Volvo. Great engine, solid 4x4 traction. All rounder capabilities. Electrical gremlins. Had it 6 months when I found the right car.
2007 Z4 2.5Si. Nuff said.

2002 (52) SEAT Arosa 16v Sport (Self built track project, owned at same time as A2. Spent it's existence at the Nurburgring, until I rolled it 8 times in April this year :( A proper wolf in sheep's clothing)
car_7.jpg

2007 (57) BMW Z4M Coupe (Pictured here just after I collected it in June. Unfortunately Sytner have ruined the paintwork since - and amongst other things, my enjoyment of the car - so it's awaiting a professional detail)
