I was reading a thread earlier where Taz asked a member if the Z was his first car (tounge in cheek). The member repsonded with a list of his previous cars which got me thinking.

What were your previous cars?

Mine were (in chronological order)

Vauxhall Nova 1.4 SR - Red

HAHA well at 23 my Z4 is my second car so a very short list i bought the Z4 not long after my 22nd birthday.

1996 Fiesta LX 1.25i
2003 BMW Z4 3.0i

I didn't get my license until i was 22 (too poor until then) but since then have had the following

306 D Turbo - Bought it to learn in, was alright i guess

Alfa 156 T.Spark Veloce - Loved that car, never went wrong and was great fun to drive, it sounded fast, it wasn't

Mk 5 Astra 1.6 - Company car, dull, used more fuel than i thought a basic 1.6 could

Vectra 1.9 CDTI - Company car, dull, decent for cruising on motorway and with the seats down it was like a van in the back, handled like a shopping trolly with a wonky wheel, hated it

BMW E46 320 D Coupe - seemed like an amazing car after the Vectra, was good on fuel and not slow

Porsche Boxster (986 S) - I hated Boxsters when they first came out but over the years the design and concept grew on me and when i drove one i loved it, still got it now and can't imagine i'll sell any time soon, costs a lot to run though

Clio 172 - I use this as my daily hack, it rattles, buzzes and generally feels like it's going to fall to bits at any moment but it's nippy and returns over 40 mpg

Z4 3.0 Si - bought about a month ago, very impressed so far

My mum's old car. I was 17 so who cared - it felt like a Lambo. After 2 years someone ran into it in their Shogun and it was an insurance write-off

Peugeot 206 LX 1.4 - Green
My only showroom-new car and it was an appalling heap of junk. The interior might as well have been made of cardboard for how long it lasted. Barely kept it for 3 years.

Vauxhall Astra Coupe 2.2 - Silver
Really loved this car. Pretty reliable and I still think they look great. Realised I could never go back to a smaller engine than 2.0.

Then the Z.

BMW E36 318is sport Coupe in silver always been a fan of BMW so was chuffed to bits when i got this,also the time when i started taking pics of my cars.

02 Audi TT 180 in Moro blue with silver grey leather int,we both loved this car until some muppet to pre-occupied with getting his kid to school T-Boned the GF damaged the car down both sides.The went for repair but had to go back several times to get sorted,so took the shine off the car so had to go. :thumbsdown:

04 VW Golf MK5 2.0 fsi,it didn't last long dull and boring :thumbsdown:

Back to BMW but this time a E46 320ci sport coupe,dark blue with beige leather int a good looking car imo

And to my current car,had 21/2 years of total driving pleasure.Going soon but won't be forgotten

And my current trusty steed 3.0is sport coupe

Like some people's car history it starts tragic but you get there in the end,work hard and you reep the benefits

about 5 years ago i sold one of my houses and thought i would have a bit of fun trying out all the cars i liked...... they were all jap at the time. i went through shedloads as i got bored easily. i'm older and wiser now and have limited myself to the z4 and astra coupe and thats how its staying
