Your Next Mechanic

Two points here ....

- Why do you continue to try to start the car when it is in flames.
- Why do you blow at the flames ...

If I could have my way I would do that to all MX5`s! really funny video that and I thought I was clueless when it comes to spannering.

Pvr my thoughts exactly I thought I was missing something in that if the engine started the fire would extinguish itself notwithstanding it will still be pumping fuel on the fire :o just shows how easily that could have been a tradegy, at least he took the fuel can with him :)

Also right at the start I think he jumps off a wardrobe

He mistakenly thought it spat back through the carb , keep on turning it over and it sucks the flames back into the engine , old belt and braces mechanics that does actually work in that scenario , he's not the sharpest knife in the draw though as it's obviously leaking fuel .

Thanks for that, so there was some logic to keep turning the engine over although I would have been long gone, I was thinking there may have been an extinguisher in the engine bay hence why he was trying to get it started lol.

I had an engine fire years ago and have to admit to a degree of panic - fortunately I had an extinguisher handy!

The problem was caused by a sticking float bowl valve in the SU carbs!
