I am retired now - I have post-traumatic stress disorder from petrol strimming bankings with hidden dog sh1t. I can however drive a ride-on lawn mower for £25 an hour plus coffee and biscuits :D
 
£3. 5s per week as a pupil Builders Estimator/Surveyor in 1963. But they did pay for all my driving lessons, test fee and first licence fee a year later when I was 17. :wink:
 
£10,000 per annum, on the counter at the Halifax, started in Feb 06 and left in June 06, I bloody HATED it!!

Been self-employed ever since and haven't looked back :thumbsup:
 
£75 per month as a computer operator for the electricity board way back in 1971.

Mind you beer was only 17p a pint then!

So 440 pints a month.
 
First job was back in Suffolk at a local pig farm. £3 for a Saturday mornings work. Shocking even in 1987 and to add further insult to injury the farmer used to pay me in a brown envelope with a payslip. Apparently it was 'character building' according to my mum.

Second job as Saturday boy at local motorcycle shop. Loved it and so did the girls as the stench of pigs had gone (hooray!). £15 a Saturday back in 1990, ordering parts, cleaning stock (RC30s etc), cutting chain and chatting with scary looking tatooed dudes.
 
Had a lot of Saturday/holiday jobs as a student but first "proper" job age 22, after finishing my first degree in Biology was as a Medical Sales Rep - think I was on 22k IIRC, but with company car delivered on doorstop (albeit a Vauxhall Vectra), company laptop and mobile I felt like I was doing pretty well indeed. Got bored of it though within a year and moved into Private banking in Mayfair.
 
£280 a week including expenses in '84 as an oil & gas explorer - more glamorous than it sounds, was just doing whatever was required by the company (the explosives bits were the most fun). Went back to complete university the following year as the promotion was limited with out a degree.

1997 £76 a week apprentice instrument maker. It was loads of cash kept my 205 on the road. £10 a week petrol and i used to driver everywhere. The good old days b4 i was bothered by pensions mortgages didn't exist and mum cooked cleaned and washed all my clothes :)
 
From the age of 14 I used to spend my holidays working in my Dad's factory, making Christmas crackers and boxed games, used to get about £50 week in the early 80's

My first summer vacation job at Uni in 1987 for the CEGB was about £90
My first job after graduation was at Ciba Geigy at Clayton on £12k a year in 1991
 
Looks like mine is the least up to now, £3-4s-2d per week as apprentice fitter in Swan Hunters Dry Dock 1962.
Just realised that is 50 years in marine engineering up to now, still working.

1980, first year apprentice Instrument Mechanic with Imperial chemical Industries and got something in the region of £24-£28 at 16 which jumped to £39 in January 1981 when the birthday rise kicked in :D
