Thanks Rob. Like I said he's doing well. and is really determined to either be walking again or make the most of being in a wheelchair. I'm very proud of him and the way he is dealing with it

I was udderly shocked this year. Honestly I've always had rough Christmas' and wasn't expecting anything- I'm blown away, but here is my Christmas gift:

I've been a lucky guy this year - the Mrs went and did the research and got me my dream car polisher!!! A DAS Pro 6 Dual Action Random Orbiter.

Only problem is the family are here today so I can't use it!

I treated myself to the same kit and polish earlier in the year.

Im awkward to buy for but was treated to a new PS4 headset and a Nes mini.

Wifey bought me the Amazon Echo - brilliant piece of kit, Alexa is leaps ahead of Siri for voice recognition. Well chuffed with it, and with more functionality due, can only get better. Pity there isn't a car version.... yet.

My favourite present by far was the fact my son could be home for Christmas. In October he had an accident at school and had a spinal injury. This has resulted in him being wheelchair bound. They say this could be his life from now on but they never say never so we are optimistic he may walk again. Because he has been self catheterising he has picked up infection after infection. Resulting in being told he would not be fit to come home for Christmas. Christmas Eve he responded really well to the antibiotics and has been allowed home.
The smile on his face when he was told this was worth more than any present I have ever been given. I hope everyone has enjoyed their Christmas. Mine has been given a shake up and a new outlook on life. So I am grateful he is home and well

Goodness, I'm so sorry to hear. I'm glad to hear your son is taking it in strides and accepting the new normal. I have a wheelchair bound friend and I'm always inspires by his can do attitude and insistence on doing things himself.

I will be one of many looking forward to a much happier 2017. Despite it being rather tough I'm blessed with good health, a partner who's my better half, a career I love and the ability to treat myself to my 35iS this year.

Christmas wise, I can't decide whether the Xbox one or the stubby & LED interior light kit were my favourite gifts.

Thank maxman, AL, extrablatt. I'm a relatively positive person. But it did shake me. However, he is inspiring me to stop feeling sorry for myself and see the good in every day. Hope 2017 brings some happiness to all
