i'm turning 26 this year. been working 3.5 years for in the ibanking industry. people naturally associate that industry as doing well so they don't assume i got money from "daddy", but some still don't warm upto the fact that someone half their age is driving a car 2x as nice. whatever... you work hard for money, you should play harder.

Im sure some of the younger drivers are like me. They have no kids or serious financial comitments yet. The only debt i have is a mortgage and I paid for the car through saving and sacrificing for a couple of years.
The previous generation who are now middle aged would have generally had kids by mid twenties so sports cars were a serious luxury.
Its understandable that some people will be jealous, but i live in London where people drive supercars to the corner shops meaning i'm not even a blip on there radar.

You know what? You guys are great at calming people down! Thanks for all the positive comments and I know that I'm not alone out there feeling like this. I do get really emotional at times and I take a lot to what people think of me as a person and obviously what car I drive will reflect on what some people may think of me as an individual.
Anyway after my on-call late last night, I couldn't wait to just get inside my car with heated seats and then cruise all the way down the 'A' roads home. It was fantastic, no cars, no people, just me, my Zed and some good music. I almost didn't want to turn into the driveway home and I wanted to cruise around for another half hour! When people throw snide remarks next time I think I'll just give them a sweet smile and then speed off into the distance...

Yep, same here, only me an my mortage. Not even a significant other to spend money on. Unless you count buying random girls drinks at the bar :?
I wish I had more time to drive mine. My next 3 weekends are filled. I'll be lucky to squeeze in a road with no traffic and curves anytime soon.

I'm in the same boat- I'm 25 and occasionally still get carded for smokes. I was at a party when some random guy told me that mommy and daddy got it for me. And I replied with, "No, I am just the Senior Web Coordinator for the university here." That shut him up.
I drive a company vehicle to work every day so people don't even know what kind of cars I own (except for my close friends). It's funny when they come to the house for the first time and see my truck, toy hauler, wife's car, motorcycles, quads and of course, the cherry on top of it all, the Z4. It took me 15 years to build up my collection of toys but of course they all think I deal drugs!

in addition to my z4, i have an 06 yamaha r6 raven (all blk) and 03 duc monster 620 (red)... currently trying to sell the monster. if i have a buyer for the r6, i may get the white 848 *drool*

I recently sold my wifes 2001 gsxr 600 and my '99 zx7 track bike. My streetbike collection has dwindled down to just the '05 zx10 in my signature.
Those ducati's sure do seem like a good way to start building it back up again... :evil:

It doesn't matter how old you are... people who are envious will always make comments... though I haven't actually had anyone say anything outwardly rude, I can tell sometimes by their questions and tone of voice that they can't believe I own a nicer car then them. But it's not my fault they haven't made or can't make the appropriate financial decisions in their lives to own a car like this. But who cares? I love my car and enjoy driving it! Also, I definitely get more genuine comments about what a nice car I have then negative ones.
