young driver insurance

:driving: :poke: They drive crazy in Manchester. Coming from South-Eastern girl, but when I went to the city, it was tiring avoiding the sillies.

P.S. :P I'm sure not all people in and around Manchester drive not so well.

hehe... oi! We're proper posh like, innit... mad fer it, ear arr, arr lad and whatnot :P

They've got a point though... in general, the drivers in and around Manchester are shocking. I've driven all over the country and I can be pretty confident in saying Manchester drivers are the worst there are.

I actually don't take my Z into town; it's used solely for escaping the city. I always get the train into the centre as it's less likely a brainless eedjit will drive into me (not impossible, just less likely!).

i have 3 points on my licence from 4 years ago, other than that nothing, i am 46, so good question, why?

3 points shouldn't make much difference but unfortuantely they do. My wife, who I have insured as a second driver , picked up 3 points for speeding in the past 12 months.I'm just about to renew my insurance in the next couple of weeks so will be informing my insurer.

No idea how much they'll charge extra, but doing a quick search on confused.com showed an increase of £40-60 for adding those 3 points. Bit of a joke really as she's already been punished for the speeding offence via the points and £60 fine, and not I'm being punished through an increased premium! It still works out cheaper for me having her on the insurance though: insurers don't seem to like 31 year-old males driving 3-litre RWD cars...

My wife had a 36 in a 30 zone 3 points penalty. Previously, she reduced my premium by £100, but the points added £150 to my premium - a penalty of £250.

That was the case for 3 years, on year 4 she reduced my premium by £100 again ...

a11y - give IAM Select a try they should at least match your lowest quote and I couldn't fault their claim handling last year

has anyone tried www.onlyyoungdrivers.co.uk ? I've got a pretty good quote from them by adding my dad as a named driver. are they reliable>?
