A while ago you said my manifold may be cracked-found out today it is  -also indy told me my vacuum pump is leaking  -anyone know worse case scenario if warranty and dealer shy away?-thanks-2.0 2006 with 35000 on her

Can't help, but let's bump it up. Sorry to hear that Andy, I know you try and take the best of care over your car - even though you get stick for it sometimes :P

Hi Andy, not the sort of thing I like to be right about TBH. Remind us, is it a BMW AUC. If so you should have warranty issues.

I wouldn't tell the dealer you have been to an indi though as they may try and shift blame.

Keep us updated and good luck.

Sorry to hear your manofolds cracked Andy, Im sure it must be covered by your warranty , fingers crossed

Sorry, dumb question, but what is the 'manifold'

It's the bundle of pipes that connects the exhaust section to the engine block. If it's cracked you tend to get a lot of noise (exhaust gasses escaping through the crack instead of going through to the exhaust) and a loss of performance. Like a hole in the exhaust, but further up where it meets the engine.

An Origami expert.

LMAO

Not an AUC car but its supposed to be a 'platinum' warranty  -hoping because ive only had it a few months with a 1 yr warranty im due a bit of goodwill if not covered-wont find out now until tuesday :(

Some info on here, the 2.0 has integral cats so around £800 or so to sort it. Maybe you could get the crack welded instead?
