You get the picture on the title. I have two submissions:

I rejected this space because the guy behind him was partially in that space, but the front of his car was as far forward as possible without poking into the road like this guy. The carpark at that time was fairly empty.

Perfectly placed parking so you're forced onto the opposing lane without a clear sight line of the lane you're moving into - note the camera is significantly higher, further forward & to the left compared to my head, at this point can see maybe 1.5-2m of my line where the black car is!
 
First one looks like a cock.

I don't see a problem with the second tho. Doesn't seem to be any restrictions, his nearside is up on the verge (just), 30 mph zone. Easily passed without too much drama I should have thought. :roll:
 
The problem with second one is you've got no visibility round the corner until you're committed to passing the parked car. I wasn't actually aware of the black car until I was beside the parked car. Oh and that 30 limit is a joke... about 75% of the time there's a car behind me when I'm doing 30mph I'll get overtaken.

Well, if you struggle to get past a car parked like that perhaps you should be on a bike :) . The road opens up to the offside so there is a view. Basic rule never drive into where you haven't enough time/space to stop.

I really cannot see any problem with the second car and it looks like the road is certainly wide enough to to accommodate 2 cars passing on its offside.

You've not realised how distorted your view is and also you've missed that actually the road line turns more sharply than the grass allows you to see. What I can tell you, because I've actually had this happen, is with my E89's wing mirror about 3" away from the parked cars wing mirror & an A5 coming the other way with his wheel brushing the verge grass there's about 4" between wing mirror tips. That's decidedly uncomfortable when you can't see if someone else is coming the other way. He's a cock for parking their especially as no less than 20m further down the road there's a completely boarded up entrance which, can & is, frequently used for parking/as a lay-by.

Oh talking of cycling, I frequently end up having to play dodge the glass around this idiots parking place... which kind of proves my point about his s**t parking

At one time I considered getting a Chrysler 300C. I saw one in our local Asda at the weekend and it was a good foot and half in the bay behind and a good foot and half into the road. I know they are a big car but I'm sure they are making our parking bays smaller.

I have a 5 series Touring and its the same. I park it, then look back as I walk away and think " Oh s**t " i'm overhanging the front of the space. I walk back then realise i'm also hanging out the back too !!

If this constitutes a parking violation, is it then allowed to put two Smart cars in one space, with one ticket as long as they are both totally within the space ??

Yeh, I got rid of a 300c to get the Z. It is a very big car and near impossible to get into standard parking place without risking front and rear encroachment or door dings.
