"You must pick up so many chicks with that car"

Pah! I don't need my Zed to pick up women. I just sit quietly in the corner of the pub licking my eyebrows occasionally!
Blimey - seems you need to get them trimmed
Have you thought about plucking them ?

Oh Z4-forum you haven't let me down with some amusing replies! I'm glad the lacking of car instigated pickups isn't unique to me ;)

I get more chaps commenting on my car... I must be doing even worse! Haha
That's very true - I'm sure if I were that way inclined the car would certainly help pick up dudes! A gay friend of mine told me that gay guys are even more superficial than women!

At work it made a difference for me. I moved from bog standard Focus zetec to having the nicest car in the workplace and got a fair amount of attention from the girls
That's probably one of the very few situations where the car gives an advantage.

Don't mention the car, then when the lucky lady sees it she'll know you're not a pretentious ass and might say "Ooh, nice car , this is yours ? " (Gain one bonus point  )
Yeah that's a good thing to do on dates. It's usually suitably impressive except for this one girl who couldn't have been less impressed by cars. She was so obviously unimpressed that I kind of felt offended!

I certainly consider myself an all around nice guy (although try not to be a "nice guy"), but sometimes you just need an edge over the gym-obsessed competition. I do pretty well financially and although I know broke-as people with more expensive cars than my Zed, people who see it still assume it's new and the best part of $100k.

Never picked any girls up in the zed lol but I am not single so never tried. But you do get a lot of looks when the roof is down and the sun is put as I found out on Sunday when it was nice with two lovely ladies walking their dog. :)

When I take friends for a drive with the roof down they often comment about how everybody is looking at us. I don't notice any more - I guess you just get used to it 8)

A car will only get you one kind of woman, especially in Perth.. Fortunately I'm more than happy with that kind so it does the trick nicely  it's definately helped pull if not just by sealing the deal when I offer a lift home. Turns out chicks love convertibles! Usually it doesn't get mentioned, then at the end of the night they get a lift home. Women in Perth are vain as, I can think of a few times where 'I just want to get home' has turned into 'hey let's go for a drive' at the drop of the roof..or pulling up outside a bar and walking in always seems to get the odd woman wanting to strike up a convo.

One girl actually said 'i didn't know they did an m version, what engine does it have?' I actually almost married her on the spot  I'm actually gutted that she turned out to be mental a few months later, Gorgeous and loved cars, there was bound to be a catch :( (read: secretly moved her stuff in, was into ghosts and spirituality, would often stop talking mid convo because she could see spirits, turned my landing into a chanting circle with feathers and gems everywhere, became the worlds most preachy vegan. I'm a simple man, I like cars and meat, don't insult either!)

I think in aus with the weather, the cost of cars and how uncommon the z's are generally, the effect is probably amplified a bit

I thought Jaw was going to say gutted she turned out to be a bloke :o my other half still tells me he thought he was going to be meeting a bloke on our first date, he didn't think a girl could know so much and talk about cars in the way I do and was convinced it was a wind up. Good job he didn't use his car to woo me as I've never been a skyline fan, even if it is a proper one (GTR).

Don't agree it's a girly looking car. It's the blokes that notice the Z and the E89 looks aggressive looking at it, wide and well planted on the road. Say that to a bird and she'll make sure your planted too! Oh and the amount of times I've had to explain to more men then women because most birds I know ain't interested in cars that the E89 is a Z4 and yes the roof come off.

I would have rather she was a bloke than a preachy vegan!

There should be more chicks into cars and bikes out there for sure

Haha that's a great story, Jay! It comes back to that magic triangle: beauty, intelligence and sanity. You can only ever have two of the three and if by any chance you ever discover a girl that has all three then hold on to her for dear life!

I'm a healthy eater and have vegetarian tendencies, but even to me preachy vegans are the worst! Seems to me to be somewhat contradictory being full on vegan but also loving sports cars...

Jaw, first post I read this morning and it's made my day!
There's not many of us 'normal' women around who like cars unfortunately mate. I'm sure you're enjoying the search tho. :D

I've just thought about this and applied it to women I know...how true!

Yep sadly I wasn't joking! It's actually a variation on the the engineering/project management triangle (cheap, fast, quality: pick only two).

I'd rely on the car as being a nice plus point that is discovered later. My experience has been that people attracted to me initially because of material objects like a flash car are not necessarily the right 'one' in the long run.

Although I'm yet to be blessed by meeting a lady that loves cars for what they are, in which case the zed would definitely be in use!

haha yeah it was testament to how crazy it was! Don't get me wrong, I love animals, and I welcome what anyone want's to believe in - I just hated being asked how was my murder roll every time I fancied a maccas! Never thought of it that way but thats eerily true - Although I think insane and intelligent would be the most dangerous mix out of the three, You'd be in trouble before you even realised it!!

Haha murder roll. If someone used that phrase in front of me I'd die laughing until I worked out they were serious!

Fortunately that's a rare combination! I figure it wouldn't be to dissimilar to a psychopath...

If you need a vehicle to attract women simply buy a Fire Engine...cast iron guarantee! ..
Just saying

Hmm, I have only ever had 3 women coment on any of my cars

1, bmw 318ci convertable - was heckled by lady who said 'I hope it rains' which was strange as she was walking and if it was to rain I would just put the roof up and she would still have to walk in the rain

2, z4 - a woman told me I looked too young to drive a car like that, not sure if that was a compliment or not, so I burnt her off the lights just in case

3, my other half who just says I couldn't care less what car you buy just stop banging on to me about it
