You know your car has made it when...

A bunch of kids crowd around your car as the roof goes up and say they want to get that car when they grow up and it's the coolest car they have ever seen....

When your mates says one of your mutual friends sent him a picture of your car...

Anyone got anything similar?

I know G14RRV got a picture of his snapped in Asda but he's from Fife and they thought a UFO had landed!

Walked out of a pub with cj10jeeper to see a few lads looking at our two cars parked side by side..

asked which they preferred, they picked his

Yes Phil, still not over this.

Similar moment when enjoying gap tech remote roof function on Montrose high street. The population probably thought it was witchcraft, as none of the tractors can do that....

I stopped at a zebra crossing to let some kids cross yesterday and they said "Thanks and cool car".Made my day and restored my faith in the younger generation.

found a woman peering through the window in b&q carpark, she jumped back when I used the remote and the windows dropped and the roof did its thing :D

also some drunken woman walking past when I was picking SWMBO up from the pub shouting that's a nice car at the top of her voice, she wasn't even young and attractive lol

I also had a rather nice lady compliment the car in the shell garage she proceeded to get in a blue 2.0 e85

Not quite the same, but I recently joined zpost and stuck some photos up, including the one that won a place in our calendar... The first response picked it out and said "that right there should be entered in the pic of the month contest for sure" :D

Given the fact the members are predominantly US based, and they have slightly different tastes when it comes to tarting their Zs, I was very chuffed indeed... Shame that on there you have to have a minimum of 100 posts to send a pic in :x

I'd quote his post, but I can't get on there right now for some reason :headbang:

Nothing to a man of your calibre Bing - you should knock those off in....oh....let me see....a couple of hours or so !!

Apart from the fact I can't get to it tonight, it's a hard market to break into tbh. Culturally very different, and remember I am not a mod god like Beedub, who is on there. I am giving it a good hard try though :P

Have to say, it has given me a newfound respect for those over the pond who are regulars on here as it is HARD to join in when so many of the threads are 'local', if that makes sense.

Anyhoo, sorry for the :hijacked: OP

It's only cos your wearing a shell suit and gold medallion!!!!

My neighbours kid thinks my car is cool (and its definately NOT cos of me, cos I'm so uncool Top Gear would need a new un-cool wall for me!). I think its good when the local scrotes like the car...hopefully less risk of them vandalising it!

i continually get friends/ colleagues asking me "hows the car?" as if its a person..... im like "same as it was last week"

took my mate out in it over the weekend and he said people kept staring at it. i cant say i'd noticed as i was concentrating on driving lol :driving:

We had a group of visitors from Malaysia at our offices a few months ago and they were all stood around my Z4 looking at it and getting their pictures taken near it in the car park!! :ninja: :camera:

Found that even funnier as there was a new style M3 parked 2 bays up and they ignored that! :P

I can boast 2 on the same day, first one: In Arnside car parked up on the seafront prom oposte the shops. A disingished gent admired from afar, closed in and eventually peered in and had a goos ols walk around and then stoos back to take it in. Yep I pressed and held open! Yes he thought he has initiated something, he walked backward across the road to stand under an awning, then his missus gave him an earfull. Excellent.

Second one: In Silverdale 2 women noticed in the beer garden ( jugs of PIMS ).... They would have walked past the car as they left, roof up as it was parked at the entrance to the beer garden. 20mins later we drive through the village roof down, one points and drops a bottle in he hand as she does so. Was it car, well it wasn't me for sure.

My favourite was on the road up to some German castle where we were in slow moving traffic and a couple of blokes were really admiring my car, so much that they stepped out into the road to get a better look at the back and Guiseley had to brake - they hadn't even noticed his ;) :)

^^ haha

last week in LEITH ( where Keith is from )

2 guys stopped and looked at the car and said .... "Thats the new M5"

me and my dad just burst out laughing..

When I had a Nissan 300ZX two kids said "wow a Lamborghini" as I was driving past. To be fair to them the Nissan does share headlights with a Diablo!

......just been to Winchester to pay some cheques into the bank - fortunately I was able to park right outside in a busy High Street.

Whilst inside a group of foreign students walked by and several of them stood in front of the car to have their photo taken - even when I returned to the car and started the engine, they were still taking pictures! 8) (BTW roof was up)

One of my son's mates thought my Z was a Ferrari - his excuse was he was 'way down the hill' :D

I'm sure you'd get away with running them over if they didn't move when the engine started!
