You guys with a coupe...

If i lived in Germany or closer to a track i would have thought about the coupe which is one of the prettiest cars on the road ; In space grey and CSLs very little looks better IMHO.

But nothing beats the drama of a roadster on a great scottish road ...

I chose the Coupe because of the colour. Well, I was actually buying a E92 325ci, but didnt find any. Always loved the Z4 coupe. Made a search just for fun. Saw the red one and just had to have it.
Blew my budget with over 10 grand. But what the hell. We only live once.
Another factor of getting the coupe is that I think Im the only one in southwest of Norway that have one :poke: And I left my girlfriend last year. So no one else to think of than myself when buying the car.
Just following my heart

Hi every one Just bought my first Z4 coupe Ruby black and fully loaded .Changed from a mini. I think my love affair with mini is over after five of the new ones. Loving the Z4.Picked it up from Lincoln and had 4 days in Derbyshire and then home to Wales Will post some pictures soon.

Taz your sig has the best view of the coupe, IMO. Those wheel arches sticking out just makes it look mean.

The coupe is better looking, its stunning IMO. However this is my first convertible and I'm totally sold on it, I actually don't think I can go back to having a car where the roof doesnt open. Perhaps in the winter if I was changing cars often, but I'm not.

It does massively limit your choice though as not many really good converitbles out there.

The fastest of all Z4 E85/E86's is the M Roadster. 8)

It was designed as a Roadster, so therefore the Coupé weighs more with the roof & extra bulkhead, rear glass, etc.

I agree with the comment earlier, the Coupé is probably the best looking Coupé on the road this side of £70k.. but the Roadster looks like it was meant to be, it's stunning.. my arches stick out exactly the same, they haunt me in the side mirror, forever reminding me of the power they want to unleash..

As for the weather, my roof is down 95% of journeys all year around... if it's not snowing, it's not staying up. It's a sunbed that does 0-60 in 4.8s.. in a few hours in Europe, you know you're out in the sun. :D

In all the years on this (& the old) forum though, it's the Coupé owners that argue about it the most. Wonder why?  :poke:

Don't pretend you can feel an extra 10KG :). The ZMC is 75KG lighter than an E46 M3, and that only buys 0.2 seconds off the 0-60 time. 10KG is a big lunch....and the ZMC is twice as stiff. Not that I think any of this matters at all in the real world, it's just the sort of stuff you hear 16 year olds arguing about in the pub! They are pretty much identical. Ironically whenever I read threads like this it's the Roadsters owners who seem to give the most lip? I guess Coupe owners aren't so insecure or attention seeking...

;) :poke:

But I do agree with your mantra of putting the roof down at all times. A soft top roadster is designed to be driven open....the roof is to keep rain out. Cold? put the heater on. I once heard an expression that sums it up perfectly - If you are driving your roadster with the roof up, the storm outside better have a name.

No performance reasons from me i just dont like the look of the roadster (sorry roadster people) and love the look of the coupe. Then again id rather have the coupe version of most cars if not all.

Autoexpress recently compared 4 Coupe-Cabriolet (Ferrari California, BMW Z4 35is, and other 2 cars). So my car can also be called "Coupe" when the RHT is up. :) With 4 windows and coloured metal roof, it is quite like the E86.

Both Coupe and Roadster look equally as good........until the rdstr puts its roof down.
Then ,thers no competition/the roadster WINS,by a mile....lol :poke: :P

Who'd want a car with a tent on the top compared to a masterpiece of balanced design . . . .
(no stanley knife worries, no fungal mould issues, no leaks, no squeeks, no scuttle shake, and no "hairdresser" comments)

Delboy :) (distinctly biassed comment  )
