I get so fed up of reading for sale adverts written by people who think brought is the past tense of buy. It really does my f###ing head in!

I've just read one on eBay where they use it several times throughout their ad. :o ARGHHH!!!

It's BOUGHT, you tw#t!!!

And breathe. I feel much better now. :D

Oooh a grammar spelling and punctuation rant - allow me to add the phrase 'peace of mind'.

When you do something preventatively for instance, it is for peace of mind - so you aren't worrying about it.

Not to be confused with giving someone a 'piece of your mind' you tell them in strong terms how you feel on a particular subject.

'Piece of mind' is absolutely not a thing.

I hate it when chavs want to ‘aks u a question bruv?’

‘Innit tho’

‘Dya get me?

And the absolute worst; people who start every las fkg sentence with the word ‘So’.
Those people can get right in the bin!

Well, funny you should mention spelling..............
Only today I had to explain to the wife how two words could sound the same yet be spelled differently.
The example I used was:

"If only you could curb your tongue as well as you kerb your alloys"

I am writing this from the shed :D

Ah but now we're slipping away from grammar/spelling and back to the old advert wording gripe.

Nothing like a well placed apostrophe to make my day 8)

Ive seen this a few times on here and not sure if its correct or not.
I have seen "top draw" when I thought it was "top drawer"
Which one is correct?

I would have put money on 'top draw', however a quick google and it would seem its 'top drawer' :?

Looks like I've started a rantfest

Pretty sure it's drawer.

Reminds me of people who think they've got "Chester draws" and are completely oblivious that they're called a chest of drawers.

I'm serious, search for "Chester draws" in eBay

Sounds a bit like the old 2 Ronnies "four candles"

"Can I get a ...... mate?" rather than "Can I have? " when ordering food from a menu
... No you cannot get it. You stay that side of the counter and I'll get it for you . :headbang:

I have to give it the eye roll when I hear:

"The proof is in the pudding...."

No.....it is not.....the proof of the pudding is "in the eating"....that is where it is!

When describing seeing, oh I don’t know, a badger let’s say, “It was kind of like a badger”. Er ok, so what actually was it then if it was ‘like’ a badger? Kind of like.....does my head in... :headbang: :headbang:
