Yorkshire/Lancs/Derbyshire Meet Sunday 28/06/2015 CANCELLED

Ok I'll plan a route over the weekend ending near Chapel-en-le frith Stevo, that way it's an easy route back to Stockport / Manchester, Sheffield etc and then if Gaz Z4M 2006 wants to add anything it's easy as it's getting beyond my knowledge range and more into his territory. I'll post the route on here then if anyone wants to add or change anything we can sort it.

I'm 50/50 on this as my love for the forum is dwindling. The moron/knowitall/gobshyte quota seems to be ever increasing.

As above ignore whatever irritates you.

You've left and come back previously which proves you missed the forum :)
The positive usually outweighs the negative

Well I hope you pop down, the bulls**t is obvious, it's the genuine correct info from experienced members that is taken on board.

Afternoon folks,

Back from a week in Suffolk, the meets still on, & it's good to see some of you looking at planning a 'Hoon'

Historically, I decided to have a stab at organising some breakfast meets, which, credit to you all, have been well attended.

We've all alluded to the fact we have a strong group up here, & a few of of us thought it was time we were a bit more proactive in getting together.

I thought the best thing to do was to organise the meets so that we all got to meet each other, with a view to expanding the meets to organised drives etc.

This seems to be developing now with a few of you (with local knowledge) looking at organising drives, this is exactly what we need, & I thank those prepared to do it

Anway, next Sunday...I will need a head count by FRIDAY 26/06/2015 as to numbers attending, so that staff at the meet are prepared for our attendance.

A reminder of the venue...

Travellers Rest, Brough Lane Head, Brough, Bradwell, Hope Valley, S33 9HG (Sheffield)

http://www.travellers-rest.net/The_Trav ... /Home.html

The Travellers fits the bill in terms of it's location (Rural) & size (for parking) & in the interest of fairness, it gives people based in the East & South of the region a shorter travelling time. It follows that the meet following the Travellers is likely to be based in Lancashire.

The Travellers do not serve food before Midday on a Sunday, however I have spoken with them, & they are prepared to provide those attending Tea, Coffee, & Bacon Sandwiches. The only caveat is that we are there for 1030 prompt on the day, so they can serve us before turning their attention to preparing food for lunch time diners.

Could you please confirm whether you are a definite attendee

Ta

Ok a suggested run after the meet if anyone is interested, sorry it's not very well laid out or a pic of a map with the route outlined but I'm seriously hopeless at that sort of thing.

From the Travellers rest car park turn left onto the A6187 for and through Hathersage, buriel place of Little John, to pick the B6054 at Fox House up to Owler Bar roundabout.

Right onto the A621 for Bakewell passing through Baslow, onto the A621, once near Bakewell we turn right onto the A6020 for Ashford in the Water or, if desired, we can de-tour through Chatsworth and back to Bakewell. Either way we then pick the A6 up for Buxton.

Through Buxton we stay on the the A6 down to Chapel-en-le-frith where Manchester, Sheffield and the M6 are easy to pick up.

I reckon the route will take around an hour at most and has lots of twistys to it with only one speed camera coming out of Buxton but obviously I cannot vouch for hand helds.

Thanks for reading and here's to a good meet although the weather forecast is'nt good at the moment, but who knows on the day.

Regards, John.
Just a suggestion as promised and easy to amend should anyone have ant suggestions.

Does that apply for everyone or just those wanting food? I'm hoping we'll be able to come down, but it depends how the week goes.

I think it's just for the Bacon Banjo's Mick to be fair. I don't think it will create any problems just turning up on the day, as long as it's not in the numbers that attended the last meet at the Turnpike :o

The numbers there really did make their eyes bleed

Definites then...

HB - Mark
Taz - Pete
markplant - Mark
john-e89 - John
Z4M - 2006 - Gaz

Mark - will let you know here asap - just need a quick word with the Mrs tomorrow.

John - thanks, that looks great to me. Best to play it by ear, weather-wise. Hoping this works out! :driving:

looks like there is more interest in the turnpike

Seems so, plus I think we're quite scarce on members in this area.

Well we've given members from the the South & East of the region the opportunity to attend a meet chaps, the next one will be back this side.

I'm more than willing to cancel this meet if people would prefer - opinions please, as I'm not ringing them until Saturday morning.

Cheers

Mark
