Missed out today but would like to be made aware of the next one please if possible

No worries Mo, it happens, we've had 2 meets here this year, so we're looking for other locations.

Was thinking about Oulton Hall, out your way, but can't remember how big the car park is, or how expensive it was last time I was there.

I've never taken notice of the place but I'm sure there's plenty of car parking. Perhaps they may not be as welcoming of a group gathering being a De Vere hotel ??
I would assist in putting a call in to ask but I'm so busy at work I'd forget to do it

Lol, yep agreed, mind you they'd fall over themselves if we went in under cover as the... Bentley Forum

Great turnout mark...

Aren't M roadies becoming common?

The Evora looks lush, as does Petes new sepang M. I love that colour, shows the lines off so well..

The oil can cafe at Holmfirth is a great venue, you can get good eats there too.
The cat and fiddle pub is good with a decent sized car park, great hot beef butties ;)

it was a great turn out, sadly the service was a big let down, that no reflection on a well organised event though halifaxbantam,

Why was that Pete??
Did you demand your sausage butty??

Bet there can't be many staff on being early?

a few of us wanted full breakfast, they were just so slow, the tiny little cup of tea i had was look warm and was 15 mins before my breakfast, all for the price off over £10

Mr Wilks ordered a sausauge butty but it did not come untill he asked for it again, bread was not delivered, coffee was like pee

to be fair to the turnpike, they were probably just not expecting so many people, i too was surprised with the large turn out

Thanks on behalf of my son and myself for yesterdays meet. The Turnpike is a good location but not equipped to offer the service or quality required. I felt like the poor relation with my basic z4 3.0 with all the z4ms that turned up. I look forward to the next meet hopefully on a warm and sunny day.

Pete you are right mate, on the previous meet the Turnpike was very efficient with the Coffee/Tea, & Danish Pastries. In fact I was that pleased, I went out of my way & e-mailed them for the quality of the service.

It does look like the numbers caught them out today, & the young staff serving us were obviously new & out of their depth.

There's no excuse really, they are a sizeable business, & knew we were coming, as I had given them the heads up.

I'll make sure they 'Grip It' the next time we meet there

The manager 'Dan' did apologise and say they weren't expecting as many.

There was 15 of us first time and nearly double that yesterday.

Yep sounds great Gaz, we have a strong following in this neck of the woods, as the turnout showed yesterday.

I mentioned in an earlier post we need a couple of alternative venues...One towards you, & others into Lancashire that we can use on a rotation basis.

I'm more than happy to post up details on the Forum of the planned meets.

We also need to look at organising a couple of 'Hoon's' We are fortunate, we have some great driving roads, it's time we grasped the nettle & made use of them  :driving:

an apology speaks loads, we all get things wrong sometimes, i have eaten there several times in the evening and i enjoy the place so 1 bad experience does not worry or put me off

Just as an option Mark and Gaz, the Travellers rest at Bamford has a perfect car park and is sizeable pub, in fact up until last year they held a huge car meet once a year for the Sheffield Hallam motor club. Perhaps Gaz has been and knows it. As a meet venue it's perfect. Anyway just an idea chaps.

That's exactly what were after John, I'll have a look at the place on-line

" The Boatyard " Jct3 M65 is also well used to various car forum meets + a great location next to the barges
They even allocate a separate car park if numbers require it

We'll have some of that as well Andy, what do folks think about another meet back end of June? & we'll use one of these venues.

Hi :) just want to say thanks for making a newbie welcome on Sunday, looking forward to the next one

It was actually a big surprise to see so many folks there so glad you felt at ease .
Sometimes its easier when there are less as you can have a chat with everyone
The Boatyard should suit you from St Helens , , i'm due down at BCSPowervalve either next Sat or the Sat after for 2/3 hours so we could have a mini meet while the car is on the ramps
