Hi all,

Just wondered if anybody knew anything about this MR, Black Sapphire with Imola Red.

Thanks

MOT history looks fairly good and any issues seem to have sorted straight away:

Yes, that's what I thought. Will check the BMW history when back at work on Thursday. Sadly won't give much info bar dates and mileages. Can always contact the dealers directly for details.

First registered in Sheffield, has been on private plate X11OAN later for sale in Oct 2016 for £12,250 at 82k miles

Free basic check https://cazana.com/uk/car/YL06OGU

X11OAN seems familiar. Think it might be an x forum car. Owen rings a bell for some reason or other.

You've got to love this site :D great info @Ewazix  It's not the 1st choice colour combo but guess I can't be too fussy. The car seems genuine, wait for a few questions to be answered re: history and a few other bits.

You sure you can handle the power? I mean, I have seen you drive

This was a concern 6 years ago, after seeing your little rakish body drive a kart, (not very well, I may add), I decided that losing some weight would help. Also moving over here took my thoughts to other things and projects. Now ready to move on to the next chapter. I assume that you are now too old to get in and out of the 'Z' hence moving it on and having mid life crisis :P

Couple of pointers dude:

Make sure you do a full HPI check on the car.

Sounds stupid but Read the service history. There should be a nice flow to it. For those that live in the dark, it’s not hard to get a blank book / semi filled service book, a legit dealer stamp and make your own up.

Check panel gaps match up and are symmetrical both sides. I accompanied a fellow forum member to a M viewing. After an hour of looking and rolling around on the floor, it was clear the car was unrecorded accident damaged. Told the seller and 2k just fell off his price. That was roadster no. 474

Agreed, Have now seen the service book, sadly only the first page is main dealer stamped (originally a BMW GB car) would have liked to have seen a INS II service done by a main dealer. Evidence of bills. Will be HPI'd on Thursday

Talk about it on its previous plate here:

Thank you  wheels have been refurb'd, but not had a service in 2 years just a few bits sorted

Yes, that’s where I seen it. Messaged the owner a few times, came back with answers. I’m hoping to get a car with better history. So, for the moment I am passing.

Any particular reason you are drawn to the black one over this interlagos one :? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201708118241158?sort=sponsored&postcode=bb120hr&make=BMW&onesearchad=Used&onesearchad=Nearly%20New&onesearchad=New&advertising-location=at_cars&radius=1501&model=Z4M&page=1

Its a ex forum car , extremely well kept & comes with a pretty big under bonnet bonus  as in a Gruppe M induction kit worth at least £600

Wheels, red callipers, mud flaps & Interlagos Blue.

I'm sure it's a nice car, just not for me

:P apart from being Interlagos blue ( which is simply stunning in the real when compared against silver , black or grey) you've just highlighted the reasons why the car is still not sold , now look at it a different way .
Positives / Service record is tiptop , it has a forum pedigree , it has a high end induction kit .
Negatives / Mudflaps are a swift removal , calipers are a hour a corner to fettle , the BBS wheels are worth around £400 , so add another £300 & £700 gets a decent set of 224s .
So bid £12500 & for £13k you have a very nice , well sorted example on your hands
Horses for course , if you want all your boxes ticking then searching around £13k cars is likely to prove fruitless & frustrating .
" Johne89" has exactly what you are after with nothing to fault , you just need £16500 to get it

I do get what you are saying Mr Wilks, of course the bits you point out can be sorted but the car is still Interlagos. I'm in no hurry and will wait for the 'right' car for me.

How about this one https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-Z4-M-Roadster-Factory-Navigation/202283140677?hash=item2f1903c645:g:0OgAAOSwXeJaydty

Ha, ha, ha just started to read a few posts and gave up :(

They have a nice RB as well, but are not moving on price. Given that I now have an idea on what they buy at and then sell on for is very helpful 8)
