Yet another Tyre Question....

I am getting some new tyres i have the sizes i want need sorted out. And i have whittled down 5 brands - 2 brands.
Had Falkens but fancy something different this time.

So if anyone has any experience with Kumho ku39s i would like to hear good or bad. The other tyres on the sort list are Toyo proxes t1 We have them on our TT and they seem good.

I am not interested in any other tyres these are the ones i can afford and can get a deal on and i have decided on. I would just like some real world feed back if anyone has tried them on the z4 or other car.

The KU39 are a decent tyre (better than the Falken FK452), I know plenty of people who are happy running them on high power RWD cars.

On a light weight car I found the T1 Sport tended to lose it's nice wet weather behavior once bellow about 5mm of tread & the KU39 didn't... but the Z4 is twice the weight of the car I'm talking about.

With that my 2p hath ended.

I would go for the Toyo T1 Sport if these are in price. Maybe the Vred's will be a similar price too.

I Had KU31's a while ago on a FWD drive and they were pretty good but that car didnt have 200+ BHP so not sure if that would make a difference or not :)

Cool guys this is waht i wanted

The T1S are £80 more so i am kind of heading in the KU39 direction.

The t1s on out Quatro TT are great but that's interesting to hear about them in the wet. I guess you mean a car like a lotus 7??

I like the rear end a bit livly Ash!!

I think i have made up my mind Kumho lets have a go!!

Thanks forum family

1108cc, 9.75:1 cr (stock 9.6:1), small turbo running 5.5psi boost, cam good for somewhere north of 10k rpm & a nominal 3.5bhp nitros system which would last for a good 25min on a bottle. The result with everything going was 105-115lbft of torque from 2500 rpm all the way through to 7500 rpm then peek power was 157bhp at around 9250rpm. the whole package weight about 670kg. What was even more amusing was that despite all them mods the externals were almost stock, just 14" super wide tyres squeezed over a BBK & some bonnet vents to try and help get rid of heat. Result was driver in powerful car lines up an overtake.... a half mile or so latter they pull back in behind me looking rather confused
