Yet another EPS issue

Hi all,

I already know what you must be thinking but this time it's different (maybe?)...
My E85 had been SORN'd for about 2 years and it's only recently that I've had the time to sort out some suspension issues to finally get it back on the road.

Prior to this (from memory) I had no EPS issues.
Turned the key and I had the dreaded EPS warning light.

However, both the Sport button works and the car is driveable, with no apparent faults in the power steering.

INPA communicates with EPS with no errors, but ISTA does not.

Now I'm in a predicament - I want to take it for it's MOT but it's got the warning on the dash, is this a straight fail?
Should I just bite the bullet and take the ECU out and send it for repair?

Any thoughts and suggestions are much appreciated!

Any errors related to ABS sensors? I had the EPS light and heavy steering, but sport mode worked. Turned out to be a faulty ABS sensor and is now fine after replacement.

So the battery has been on a trickle charger and about a year old. It’s got a green indicator on the battery but I haven’t checked the voltage.

ABS sensor is a good shout, I had replaced the driver side hub with a used sensor. If there is a fault though I would’ve expected the ABS light to turn on which is confusing!
