Yet another Brake Upgrade question

Hey all, as I'm starting to track more and more I'm wanting better brakes.
I'm already going to switch to the mobul rtf 600 & steel braided lines.

The thing I'm torn on (after much searching) is brake pads.
For the rotors I'm leaning towards StopTech slotted/drilled rotors found here

For the pads I'm liking what I hear about EBC redstuff/yellowstuff. After reading though I see yellowstuff has a lot of brake dust, and I'd rather not deal with that again.
(I'm also thinking about using the Axxis Deluxe ULT's)
My plan is street/occasional track use

So I guess my question is, how is the redstuff for brake dust? What is it's brake fade temp? Does it do well on the track?

Basically I want new pads & rotors but with so many options i'm lost.

The pads sound good although I went with Akebono pads. But I kind of think that the rotors you're looking at are more eye candy than anything else. Check out the linked article:

STOPTECH stage 2 has the cmplete kit, Rotors, Axxis pads, stainless brake lines, and fluid. It's the kit I went with. Can't go wrong with Axxis pads for low dust.

Concerning EBC Redstuff pads at the track, paired with EBC USR discs, i'll come back to you end of April.
As for now, on a regular road use, i can only say that it brakes just fine. Did not check the dust issue yet. Occasionnal squeal from my rear pads, though.

Yeah I forgot to mention I'm on the fence about drilled/slotted. I'm concerned about heat, which is the main reason I'm considering drilled. I still am thinking hard about getting the Axis ULT pads. I've heard good things about them here. I like the deluxe's, they just aren't great (still good) for the track once you get confident on it and start doing hard breaking off the straights. I suppose if I got the slotted/drilled rotors there wouldn't be too much of a chance to get the temps past the 932 F. Especially seeing that it took me 99% of the track session to get my brakes hot enough to get brake fade.

So a friend his friend that drives a BMW M3 pretty hard said that guy uses Zimmerman cross drilled rotors. I'm currently searching the Google god's for reviews info, but has anyone here used their rotors in a track environment? Good/bad? From the little i've seen so far they seem good.

Ok, so money priorities is making me rethink my rotor buy. Not to mention most are saying drilled rotors aren't good (durability wise) for track :)

I've decided on the axis deluxe ULT's, and i'm thinking about changing the front rotors out (centric premium rotor) with sportstop slotted rotor. I see Zeckhausen only sells those for the front, so will upset the brake balance just getting better rotors on front? Or will I even notice it?

My current rotors are still in good shape, very little on them is worn so I really hate to upgrade them, but again I'm worried about heat which is why i'm considering slotted.

IF you notice a loss of braking power after you change pads,,,,then you may want to consider rotors. Until then, just stay with the stock rotors and upgraded pads. You are not a track monster yet, after only one HPDE event :poke:

Sounds like a plan. Remember your new rotors will be useless in the 40mph UK anyway, they'll barely get warm

Part of the reason I was thinking of slotted, so I'll have bite either way. At any rate, I'll change out everything but the rotors, see how I like it with a quick performance drive (after bedding in) then decide if I want to spend tax money on slotted rotors.

The more I think about my first & second track event, I think I would be going too much switching to slotted/drilled right off the bat. After all, the axis deluxe's didn't get hot until the end of the session.

if u want some good rotors, go for DBA4000 slotted. if u can get DBA5000 it would be even better. I am about to put on a set of ferodo pads so will give u info on them after my track day.
