I only brought him up to show how far the political parties have strayed from what they once were. It's clear that if you were to remove the JFK name from his policies. Then show those policies to a young voter. They would very quickly determine that the person that had such policies was a right winger. But when you then add the name JFK. Most would be shocked to learn that those were the policies of a democrat.
 
Seems to be the case, FTSE is up, Dow is down.

Interesting that non US sees the election as a positive result whilst the US market has a different view.

The short answer according to the talking heads on TV goes something like this... An Obama administration will raise taxes and in general is anti business making US based businesses less competitive. Non US companies see that as good for them giving them an advantage.
