Yep. Another for me!

Looks great with the top down and I also like the wheels
It does come with the typical BMW issues, though. The wheels are prone to cracking (what a surprise) and the drainage outlets in the rear wings get blocked. There have been reports of so much water collecting in the rear panels that it overflows into the boot and fries modules (first in line as it's at the bottom is the Harman & Kardon amp which then blows the speakers and can damage the head unit so is not cheap to replace).

I could hear water sloshing in mine, so unblocked both drains myself. Got about a gallon of water out. It has now had the BMW 'solution' done, which involves drilling holes in the underside of the side skirts and taking the bungs out. Hi tech, eh?

You'd have thought they might have got the hang of producing roof drains that work by now!

And I like the wheels too - would non-runflats save them from cracking?

So.....I've got the three month itch again. I know it's supposed to be a seven year itch, but time's-a-passing quicker than ever.

Thinking of selling the 440. I have spent £2,5k on it in the last 2 months (MPPSK, M performance bodykit, etc).
Anybody interested in upgrading to a four seater convertible? it is a really good one, highest spec out there and less than 12k miles.
Some up to date pictures are on page 5 if it interests anyone. BTW this is not a for sale thread, so MODS please don't shut it down. If I get any sniffs I will post a for sale thread.

Bloody hell - pondy, you sell more cars than Arthur Daley

What do you fancy now, opposite end of the scale be good fiat 500 just so you can tell what you have missed

Believe it or not I am thinking of going full circle and getting an old estate car or possibly a van!

Maybe a nice Mx5
We ended up with the Z4 because the wife wanted an MX5. She decided a BMW was far more desirable than a Mazda. Ironically she now also has a Mazda! And she is rather fond of the Z4 so that ain't going nowhere.

Abarth 595 with the juvenile Monza exhaust 8) Went out in ours tonight, very nice place to be in and you can actually park it somewhere.

Going by past threads you'll probably have had your 440i for nearly a year before you've decided what you want in a snapshot of time, until you want something else soon after!

Still I'll enjoy following your musings.

Wish I did Iain. I should have stuck to houses, they are far less expensive in the long run.

TBH I don't think I will sell it without losing too much money to be able to stomach (or afford). Cars are going down in value now, as they historically always have.

Always a good suggestion! Can't beat a small car with a juvenile exhaust!

Yep that’s what happened to mine, fortunately it was within the manufacturers warranty, they replaced the amp and then had to replace all the mid size speakers, took quite a few trips to the dealer.

Anyway what are you going to get now?

yellow reliant Tobin aye delboy
That reminds me.... 30 odd years ago I was doing some work at a place for a while where one of the security guards had a 'souped up' Robin. It was red, had little Wolfrace wheels and the big aerial that folding back at 180 degrees. Anyway, he would show off his three wheeler to anyone watching in the carpark and could pull wheelies in it. It was the funniest (and potentially saddest) thing I have ever seen.

I dunno Gorge! I would really, really like to build a Cobra replica with an LS3. I have looked into it many times, but with the current push toward EV and saving the planet, I have always been put off. I don't want to spend three years and £50k building a car that is going to be banned from the roads. I would sell my family to buy a Toyota Celica TA22, as it was 'my car' growing up. Almost impossible to find a good one now.

Remember as well that his wife was in hospital a while back so not in a “as new” state either.

Any warranty provided?
