Yellow Spots

Washing my car a few days ago I noticed yellow paint spots along both sides of my car. I have no idea when or where this happened, but needless to say, I'm not thrilled.

I own a porter cable orbital, so i guess i need to put it to good use. What do i need to do? Is there a compound I should use to remove the spots without damaging my paint?

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are these surface imperfections? Paint splatter? Pollen? Can you feel it with your finger or fingernail? It would help if the bandit was identified.

In the meantime, I would:

a). I would get some Dawn, dilute in water 20% wash, use clay bar, rinse.

not removed?

b). Stoner's Tarminator.

or

c). WD40.

Gently try to shift with a microfiber towel...don't rub hard!

If it (they) haven't budged, get an expert to evaluate. Unless you are proficient with compounds, don't try to use them. You may end up with more of a problem (and a more expensive problem at that), even with a Porter Cable.

I guess I should have included this bit of information. Yes, it is paint and I can feel it.

Most paint won't adhere permanently to the clear coat, so it is removable. Using some level of compound should be IMHO a last resort. Reason is the paint should be setting on whatever wax is on the clearcoat (assuming you have waxed or used some sort of protectant), therefore, is removable. Is there a load of splatter? I would try to remove it by what I wrote in my first post then let's see what success you created.
