Yellow SI badge

Why don't you buy some SI badges instead? then play with them in a similar way that BMWZ did, maybe a yellow S and a chrome I next to the side indicators?
This way you keep a BMW look but unique to your vehicle. I think that moding is fine as long as it is in keeping with the car. BMWZ's car is quite inspiring because it seems like he has taken the best bits of multiple BMW cars and added them in a style that is very in keeping as a BMW product. If you were looking over the car with a untrained eye you would think wow this must have been some kind of ‘homologation special’ which is probably great praise indeed.

Can't say I'm that keen on your idea, but each to their own of course! All you can do is try it out and see how you like it.
You could always use a badge from a car that barely anyone has heard of - that way it doesn't look too 'copycat'.

One of the main reasons I liked the Audi badge is the yellow strip which is reflects the ///M logo in a way especially when I have undertaken a little adaptation with the vinyl I have ordered, something like this..
I think the CS badge painted in orange on BMWZ's car looks good as he has it next to an M badge on the rear. The CS on the side next to the BMW roundel just doesnt quite work IMO.
IK., I had already looked at your suggestion but couldnt really find anything I liked.
I also found this whilst searching the net but would be reluctant to put it on as it's not an ACS car..

Ye I see your thought process, its just too Audi.
The cs on the back does look cool, but not so much with the M logo. Im in two minds, I like the idea but like I said earlier I think I would design one myself and get some cad mock ups made, then get some machined. Or just leave it as is. You could mock up an M style logo but instead with an S that continues the form of the logo italicised with and I from an OEM BMW logo. Using the same colour combination as I think it really works. Its the fine details, the font and the way it is placed within the logo doesn't scream BMW and is in my mind unsuitable (especially on such a good looking car). A custom well made one with a suitable font and attention to the form of the BMW M brand would really look the business. Not only would it be in keeping but also very custom and unique on a BMW.

I use CAD everyday of my life in my job but for designing buildings not badges..
I Wouldn't know where to start / who to contact to get one made so I may have to just fiddle about with this one or leave it be

Well its pretty much the same just on a really small scale! Im guessing youl have some fabricators around where you live? Most of these companies will have access to a CAD CAM milling machine which will basically cut it from a piece of metal which will be most suitable, then you could have the badge chromed. You might not even have to get it milled could be cast but that will cost more because of a die would need to be made. Milling would make sense because it would be a small production number, casting would make more sense if you were batch producing them. You could even have it injection moulded on the cheap using plastic then have it chromed. I think its basically the worlds is your oyster just need to find someone that can advice a little more. Would be worth getting in touch with some companies to see what they could offer because there if there is no die it shouldn't cost a fortune they could just use the CAD drawing as co-ordinates.
Come to think of it have you heard of rapid prototyping? Its a type of process that allows you to make prototypes of products using layers. It builds the design using by curing a liquid resin with UV light from the design you have created from a CAD file. It is absolutely amazing. Its a simple process that creates a 3D model as a prototype but in this case you could use it as your final product. Just get it finished in anyway you see fit, chromed then add your colours. I really don't think it would cost the earth either because its a small item.

If you design houses everyday using CAD this will be a walk in the park! and could really produce a finish on EPIC proportions!! Could really be the result you are looking for!
