Hi everone its happened a few times turn car off, peep yellow oil light comes on . Check level looks a bit short not much, top up its ok for a couple weeks then its away again .Does parking on a slope affect the sensor ? I am not doing a lot of miles a week about 150 or so does the 3.0 engine require oil on a regular basis .The car is performing perfectly as far as i am aware, or am I not putting plenty of oil in when i top it up

I've had the same thing, seems to only do it on a bit of an incline, and oil wasn't particually low. Think it must just be a sensitive sensor.

Dead flat 5 mins after stopping, yeah.

Oil will thermally expand, but then seep back down to the sump once turned off over 5 mins. That is the time to check. It is also slope sensitive, so being almost perfectly flat is ideal.
Checking when cold, or just stopped, will show it a bit low.

Depends if you have the manual dipstick or the electronic dipstick I guess. Electronic dipstick is tested when the engine is warm and running. I think that is post 2006 engines though.
