Yellow Oil Light After Shutting Off Vehicle

Hello,

I have a 2004 Z4, when I shut off the car the low pressure oil light comes on and is yellow. I checked my dip stick and it looks fine, does that mean my sensor is bad? It never comes on while driving though...

Do you mean the low oil level light?

If so my 2002 E46 with the M54 engine did just that on one occasion, although the dip-stick was one notch above minimum. I topped it up anyway and the light never came on again. I never considered a sensor problem but it wouldn't have mattered as I always monitored the level regularly - it did use a bit after reaching over 90K miles!

Gotcha, maybe I’ll see about topping it up. This only recently started, so it could be either
 
Mine comes on sometimes when I stop and the car beeps at me. After my service it stopped but it is at it again even though the oil is at it's highest point on the dipstick.
 
Oops, forgot to attach the comment. This is where I am currently at. After properly cleaning and then dipping it with the vehicle leveled.
 
Is your Z4 generally level where you stop and turn it off? I get the low light indicator when I turn the car off after several thousand miles after an oil change and have to add a 1/2 a quart and it goes away for another several thousand miles. My Z4 consumes a little oil over time.
 
Also, the warning light starts coming on initially if I only drove a short distance like to the grocery store only 1.25 miles away or a friend's house only a few miles away. If I drive farther like 4 or more miles it doesn't come on, I assume, because the oil has heated up and expanded. So short trips are like a 2 minute warning for being time to add oil.
 
When mine is there the light comes on, it stopped when it was higher up after the service. So I assume it needs to be higher🤔
