Yellow exclamation mark and yellow dsc

Took the zed for MOT today and it passed with no advisories.

The only thing he mentioned was that he had to cable tie the brake wear sensor and brake line as it was rubbing on one of the struts.

Off I went happy until I’ve gone back out in the car and now got the dreaded yellow dsc and yellow explanation mark dash lights.

IT must be related to what the mot guy has done but does anyone have an idea of what? They’re shut now but I’m guessing it must be something fairly simple to rectify?

They came up on mine a few weeks ago. Someone on here recommended to disconnect battery for 20 mins then once reconnected, drive it 100 yards and all cleared

It didn't with mine. Try the battery disconnect first and see how you get on

Got exactly the same on my Z3 at the mo. I'm still not sure why, code came up as brake switch!! But not convinced.

Codes are the surefire way but typically:

1) DSC + ABS = ABS pump.
2) DSC + handbrake (in yellow) = pressure sensor
3) DSC + ABS + handbrake (in red) = wheel speed sensor.
4) DSC + ABS + handbrake (in yellow) + tyre pressure = wheel speed sensor.
5) DSC + ABS + handbrake (in yellow) = steering angle sensor fault / ABS pump.
6) DSC permanently on = steering angle sensor calibration issue / yaw sensor / lat accel sensor.

There are other combinations of faulty sensors which can cause similar lights but the above are the common ones.

Thanks for the reply, it’s appreciated. So it would seem to be the pressure sensor. How easy is that to change?

I love this car but I’ve never known such a temperamental thing in my life! I unplugged the battery last night and this morning......hey presto......the lights are out!

If it reappears I will get it scanned but for now at least all seems well??

The pressure sensors do start to fail like that. Most of the time just turning the engine off and back on extinguishes them but they always come back on sooner or later. Wouldn't worry about it though, just drive it.

I have inpa but not really sure how to work it

I have the below when I go through error memory. I have no idea what any of it means.

I had these exact 2 lights come on and then around 5 mins later the battery charge light came on. I took the battery out and charged it put it back in the car and cleared the faults (it was showing pressures sensor) and it ran faultlessly for a week just doing odd little runs and then the same thing happened again.

This time i checked the alternator and it was only putting out 11.17V so charged the battery again cleared the faults and took the car down to the garage who confirmed the alternator was indeed NFG. So one alternator swap later and everything is now fine and the car has run for a few weeks now with no more sign of the warning lights, it could be pure coincidence that this cured it but if you have this fault my advice would be hook up the multi-meter if you have one and just have a check

Had the same two lights on my dash last Sunday. It was suggested that a slightly depleted battery may have triggered it after some work on the car necessitated a few hood operations without the engine running. A decent drive home (ie charge the battery) didn’t make them go away, but a few minutes of the battery negative terminal disconnected did. They have not come back yet. Half expecting it to happen again and if it does will suspect a pressure sensor.

I had the DSC telltale and the exclamation mark light up recently when touring Dartmoor, it was during our recent heatwave and it seemed as though it was only happening on days where the temperature was up around 30C.
That would make a good smoking gun, however my battery has died and needed replacing since then.
