Yellow e89 straight 6 m sport

I am on the hunt for a yellow e89 preferred 30i m sport with Idrive .would consider 23i if was m sport or had plenty of on board toys .Who can help ?

Welcome..your search will be challenging..

Less than 1% of all the 185k E89s were AY. Most went to Germany and USA.

In the UK viewed as a Marmite colour.

So very few and early ones were poorly spec'd mostly.

Now commanding higher prices..see one old 2011 53k miles 23i has gone for £12,995 with no goodies which is very rich in the current market.

I've only ever seen one 30i for sale..that was when I was looking a few years ago..it sold in 5 hours.

So you need to incude the other engines or add colours like Valencia Orange..or wait..

Typically they come up in threes like London Buses

Yeah I never make it easy for myself .I actually wanted to go see that one you mention but they never got back to me and then it came up deposit taken .Actuss as lly went to see the other non m sport same year one but although close no cigar .just gotta hold my nerve they are out there just hopefully will be worth the wait .😀😀

The AY ones do come up but due to the numbers or lack off and probably as many AY owners hang on to their Marmites the frequency is low…going into winter maybe someone will bail out…

I run a tracker on AY ones so I see there can be sometimes a gap of 2-3 months before one appears..

Strangely I’ve seen come up in obscure non AT places so a broader internet search is needed..

If it just has to be AY then would it be stupid of me to suggest buying an e89 with the spec you want then wrapping it or re spray it?

Or would it not be worth the cost of the re spray or wrap given you’d never see that money on resale value?

AY E89s are pretty rare, much like PY E85/86s.

It might be easier to find an AY car then retro-fit any essential options!

Anyway good luck OP.

Thanks Chaps
Yeah I am just not into the wrap respray thing as it’s also the interior I like .and the two on AT .one is deposit taken which looked the better and the other is non m sport with 77k on clock not had vanos ,lifters or any of the other common items sorted and just basic services last few in the garage selling it so £11.5k for that it ,I thought was a bit too much and as dealer didn’t want to offer silly low as apart from colour it just didn’t hit my g spot 😀

That looks like a good one Peter.

Now where's the OP?

Must be just me, but seems very strong money for a 2011 pre-LCI N52 with the 6 speed auto (not the best attempt by ZF), especially as we are apparently in the middle of a 'cost of living' crisis.

Seems the car market is taking it's time to realise selling prices are not what they were 12 months ago. Buyer's market now!

edit after the previous post; That is then about £6,000 overpriced!
